Yep... My last boss at a real day job told me “if you want to find an easy way to do something, hire a lazy guy.”  I guess that was me he was talking about?

Nothing wrong with being frugal

I've told many many people over the years:

There's a fine line between laziness and efficiency and I ride that line!!!!

Done with the RJ resto today. Opted to paint the steering shaft after installation in the tractor.

I like it.

Of course with a new implement you can justify a new tractor purchase.

Absolutely!  I wish this was pointed out more often!

I got the welder out this afternoon and made some progress on my de-thatcher attachment.   Here is a picture of  the 3rd fitting.  Lift linkage and gage wheels, and some trimming for clearances yet to go.

I intend to build similar but I'll call mine a front rake, for small limbs and such (locusts and oak!).  I think mine will mount to a front blade frame so I can raise and lower and I just saw one that had grade wheels so I think I'll add those as well.  Nice project and I think there is a need for such!

You should explain to her that we all need Wheelhorse seats. For a fee of course.

I still have the yanmar diesel that needs a home and have been studying how to put at least a 2-3” lift and  25” tall tires on it. Luckily I have the other (Weston) :laughing-rolling: sitting out there begging to be messed with.

I'm planning to be able to raise and lower this with a linkage similar to that used on snow throwers. I am currently working on gage wheels for it.  Planning on having a height adjustment for the tines that will range from 1/4" below ground to 1" above ground.

Beautiful machine. Great work!

But did anyone else notice? It's not obvious, see if you can find it...

I managed to dodge a bullet when it came to a Long Arm machine. A lady who does custom quilting opened a shop that rents time on programmable long arm machines that run about $ 20,000 plus upkeep. The cost to rent the machine is only $ 100 an hour and most quilts take less than two hours. Can't beat the price and that means we don't have to give up the guest bedroom.

Good eye Chris... looks like Madge was rolling the dice on this project!

BTW can't tell from Chris's zoom but they have these nifty stem protectors for cleaning up those often rusted out stem holes when tubing.

$ 100 an hour to rent a $ 20,000 machine that we would only use a dozen times a year is way better than owning it. Didn't you rent the dozer you used to clear a field a few months back?       :angry-tappingfoot:        You should have bought it!        :laughing-rolling:
