19richie66 17,505 #751 Posted June 2, 2018 Still checking things off the list. Got almost all my wiring done, lights working and starting to button up all the sheet metal. Big difference color wise with the LED vs the halogens. Too bright to get a good picture but they work! 4

19richie66 17,505 #753 Posted June 2, 2018 (edited) @PeacemakerJack I hope to be cruising it this weekend around the yard. Try them out at night. You should see the tail lights lit up. Edited June 2, 2018 by 19richie66
ebinmaine 67,484 #754 Posted June 2, 2018 (edited) Finished doing the flush on the transmission on the b80 4 Speed. Two flushes of diesel at two quarts a piece and I ran out of diesel. Second one looks pretty good anyway. Also changed out the fluid charcoal that was trying to pass for oil that was in this engine. rjg854 11,361 #761 Posted June 3, 2018 Tore apart the fuel pump on the 73 16 auto, got the pump to stop leaking gas, but didn't have a good gasket for between the pump and engine, so now that leaks oil once you shut the tractor down. Got a new pump ordered which comes with a gasket. I figured if I couldn't repair the pump, I had one on the way anyhow.
Aldon 4,826 #762 Posted June 3, 2018 My Restomod GT16 suffered indignity while in transport to CT. 84 is flat out embarrassingly bad. Felt like I might have been airborne a couple times while on route to CT meet and greet. The tractor remained secure but a box of parts destined for @19richie66 at show this year acquiesced to the laws of physics and provided equal and opposite force to the front of my tractor. Said box has 3 point arms and hitch parts as well as another solid nose so it’s plenty heavy. Could have been worse. The mule took most of the smack as well as the solid nose. Scuffed paint. One weak spot on the GT14 is the small front section of frame as the mule that was original on GT14 did not mount to it so they used much lighter steel. Have always planned to replace with 1/4 or 3/8 as I knew it was too weak. The damage just accelerated my plans. Unploaded today and started disassembly. I’ll also flip the front rims while I am at it to widen stance of the front a bit. Won’t match GT22-8 but will be closer to same. And ill have to get to get a couple good afternoons weather wise and repaint nose.
19richie66 17,505 #763 Posted June 3, 2018 Sorry to hear that @Aldon. Now I feel bad. Hope it didn’t hurt it to bad. That must be a horrible road to shake that box that bad. I guess I’ll have to strap extra good as I’ll have two engines, some racks and a couple of boxes. I’ll have to do an extra good job on that tank to make you smile again.
Aldon 4,826 #764 Posted June 3, 2018 No worries mate. It was my decision to store the box on the trailer. I’ll make sure to batten down the hatches and lock down all boxes next time

Also taking my 854 and my RJ that I redid two years ago. Got the RJ all ready to go yesterday. Used the 701 Wheel Horse with my 9 tine cultivator (mix of Danish and Wheel Horse shovel tines) on the garden this am . Worded fantastic and the half inch rain we had last night made the work pretty easy. Video of the tractor working one of the last rows! 053.MOV Nice tractors. I like the muffler on the 702. I don't see to many of those anymore. I can't remember who manufactured it.

Lane Ranger 10,968 #771 Posted June 4, 2018 (edited) Put some new front wheel bearings and spacer bushings on the 1961 Wheel Horse 701 to tighten up the front wheels for working the vegetable garden. Worked well after doing this. Sheared off the rockshaft pin used to lift the cultivator with the hydro (not due to weight -just an old pin) Found three options to use for a redo. My rockshaft has a 1/4x20 in it. I might put another set of spindles I have for a 701 on the tractor at the end of the season. I have a set that has had some brass "meat" added to them! Lane Ranger 10,968 #772 Posted June 4, 2018 608KEB: The mufflers are SHUSHER mufflers and were used by Wheel Horse on the B-80's in the 1970's. I have one on my 854 and my 702 -both of which will be at the Big Show in Pennsylvania in two weeks!
