WHX??

What your source on the fuel cap Madge?

Tied into the 1054 Mike @prondzy brought over at plow day. Sorry Mike I can handle a smoking engine on a new to me, this one doesn't,  but sloppy steering is a deal breaker!

This motor acts exactly like the short pan in my 1055. The SG struggles to turn it over on the compression stroke so guessing this doesn’t have ACR either. If you let it set for a second then hit it  again it wil pop right off. Has that nice tight sound of the 1055 as well.

Will also repair some other minor things while I'm at it and replace the ig switch with a proper 70 amp one and wire up the disconnected gen light and cigar lighter ... another deal breaker... how am I gonna run the pellet grill  at shows with out a cigar lighter!

Oh and what's up with the empty holes in the hood and muffler Mike? Dibs on that attachment you get the hair to sell!

Something else I found on this girl.... serial number tag just above the lift lever. No doubt original.

Someone has been in the motor before tho. Base pan is on backwards, my other short frames with a big block it is facing the front. Missing tin on it too. Have those in the magic parts shed.

Got the charger 12 washed and degreased a little bit. The trans appears to be out of fluid or very low. It does drive. Is there common areas they leak from? Previous owner said it leaks slowly.

Thank you, both relatively easy fixes? First im gonna put a new filter and fluid with dye if that wont hurt it,  i have a black light for leak detection if i can find dye at the store. Also can you tell me what trans fluid (from an auto parts store) i can use?

Any auto trans fluid if it’s red on the stick, like Dex 3, Etc.  Most all are comparable across the board anymore.

If it’s brown though, use engine oil.

the motion control isn’t terrible, but I feel like it’s easiest to pull the trans from the frame to do the job.

Dex/Merc  if the fluid is red.  10w-30 or 10w-40 if it is tan...Filter Wix 51410

Axle seal effort depends on how hard the hubs fight.

Just got back from tractor supply co with some materials i gathered:

-all new 1/2 inch pins for loader

-more degreaser

-2 gallons of atf for my diagnosis

-dog toys for puppy

-overpriced dog treats that my gf had to have

So with all that i now have 110 dollars into this machine on top of the initial price of 1k(including dog treats for the puppy, they are necessary to keep my gf happy and from questioning me on how much i spend on tractors)

It was a fella name of @OldWorkHorse that has decided to have a go at the build.

He's gonna be be looking for some parts here and there whatever help we can throw at him.

He done good on a 314-8 and wants something a tad older.
