Well this project is coming to an end. I got this tractor just 20 days ago, its came a long ways from the day i got it. Is now fully functional and will be used as a cruiser/tow rig for the yard cart. Got some sweet hood decals coming from redoyourhorse along with a big 12x12 horse logo for my tow truck. This has a been a fun little project, and will last a number of years amd eventually be given a full proper restoration. But for now with only my driveway available as a workshop, this will have to do. Im happy with horse #2

I see a upper and lower Rail instead of the Guard on the Picts, so i think he wouldn‘t have a problem.

Thanks, and The guard is not necessary with the 2 pieces of angle i added. With a completely different engine and pulley size a factory belt guard wont work, nor did it come with one. I am going to get one or put the one it came with over the belt as a cover to hide everything.

There's this one spot in my backyard that I've never been able to mow. A steep ~20' over ~20' incline, conveniently covered with white pine needles for extra no traction.
For 20 years here with various inferior tractors, all I could do was coast down the hill, holding on for dear life.
Now I can mow the pine needles with impunity.
1st gear, high range, full throttle, 10HP, big enough rear tires, no sweat.

Quite a transformation. 

 

For a belt guard you could use a hunk of sheet metal cut to fit.

25 to 30 ft. pounds.  There's manuals here for k and mag series engines, the torque sequence is one of the most important steps.  When completed, run the engine up to temp and let it completely cool down and retorque the head bolts, finish reassembly.

Thank you, late last night as I was getting crossed eyed from searching, I found this.

 Nothing spectacular done, just changed the engine oil on the C-125 worker and adjusted the hinge brackets on the hood. Right hand one was a tad loose and drooped a fraction. Hood fits to tower nicely now.

Today's job was installing an oil filter plate from an M18 onto my C175. I'm loving the Series II on it. Now if only the oak trees will stop dropping leaves...

Did you have to replace the engine end plate??  How did the filter base mount?

The oil filter adapter just replaces the flat block off plate that is there. Picture is from magnum service manual. Series 2 17 horse supposedly has the plates although I have read where some don’t.

 

I would also get rid of the shaker plate and install the engine to a regular plate like on a 418 or 417. Give you a little more area below the filter for removal.

Let the paint cure overnight then straight to work with this one. Working great so far for towing leaves up and down the hill. Plenty of power from this little 100 dollar 212cc engine. I love it. Very happy but no hood yet cause i need hardware and only stock metric bolts, havent tried to see what size the threads are yet.

Worked on 2 of the tractors today.

16 Auto 

Had to swap out the fuel pump because it was leaking gas. Pretty simple job, checked it over, because it won't be long before I hook up the tall chute blower.

Time to get lights working. Installed eye ball lights on the front end

Then added a set of back up lights and got the taillight working, still need to get a bulb, but it all works nicely

I checked the oil on mine yesterday, then got seat time sweeping and burning leaves.

 

Friday, we got the canoe out and paddled around in the lake for a while.

 

Spent all day getting seat time in my truck driving to our 'alternate location' in Missouri.  Found a yard full of leaves when I got here.  Only problem is that I do not have a  here to deal with them!
