WHX??

Was stoked when I saw a package left on the porch by fedex... cat 0 hitch work for the Super C....amazing this pretty big chunk of steel was just 65 Washingtons shipped!

Even more stoked when the missus came out to the shop and handed me a package from the mailbox loaded with go fast pullies so as I can keep up @Achto on cruises and do some lawnmower racing with @Racinbob ! Bonus pully for Dan's patented flywheel side PTO.

Now for the :angry-teeth::angry-banghead::angry-banghead::angry-cussingblack: ... I ordered the wrong pulley... FYI the input shaft on a 3 speed is 3/4, a six speed is 5/8. I ordered a 5/8 for a 3. DINO have you not taught me nothing! You have if I could remember it ! Looks like I am gonna have a six that goes fast. Add insult to injury in my haste in the quest for the need for speed I busted the the orginal in my hurry to get it off. Not a big deal as o am heavy on stock input pullies but this one was painted candy apple...:crying-blue:

I'm back already!  So, along with some easy stuff (filters, etc), I re-installed the PTO bell that the previous owner (for 16 years) never used.  He had everything in a box.  I had no plans to use any belt-driven accessories any time soon, just wanted to make sure I had everything and see that it worked.  Then my dad stopped by and we were looking at the mower deck and the box of parts.  We were a little puzzled as to how it would all work, or if I actually had all the parts.  Well... two beers later the deck was greased, mounted, and mowing!  Now, I live on a postage stamp (at least the grass-covered part), so it's kind of crazy to have a ride-on mower... but then again, I am a little crazy.  I am amazed that the mowing deck, which hasn't been installed on the tractor in at LEAST 16 years is working perfectly!

Oh, and I ordered new back tires on Amazon (I -want- AG tires, but I -need- turf tires).  And I ordered a tow hitch on eBay to I can move my small trailers around the yard/driveway and take my trash to the end of the road.  I got the one from Streetrays... anybody else have one of those hitches?  I don't have any trailers with a heavy tongue weight, so I think it'll be fine.

Jim—that super C looks really tough with that honking hitch adapter:eusa-clap:  I see that you are looking to gear some tractors to race Dan—this should be fun. :auto-layrubber:make sure your tie rods ends are in good shape :auto-swerve:

Not sure what that one looks like but I regularly move 1000+ pounds with mine.

This is the one I ordered.  The tow ball mounts in the raised part.  The lower part allows you to still use a garden trailer, and the larger hole allows you to pull with a strap or chain.

1976 was the big change - first year for the case reed engine, up pipe, etc

Oh yeah okay. I like that design. I don't know what the weight rating would be on something like that. The one I have is a receiver style hitch that bolts to both sides of the axles.

When I press down on the clutch pedal I have to let off some or press harder to find the sweet spot before it will let me put it in or out of gear.

Take a look at the right side foot rest. If it has been pushed in slightly it can cause the clutch atm to catch on the belt guard.

Gotta make those flames dance Bob! :D

BTW thanks for the tip on the pulley place. Fast ship and you get what you order as long as you order the right thing!

I order lots of materials for work and they are always right  but as soon as I order tractor parts I usually mess up! Best not quit my day job!

Just bought this today for my property I just purchased, not a big place just not quite small for a push mower.  Got it and trailer for 550.00. Seemed fair..  It did not run when I purchased it, I was told everything was fined as usual. Lol. Being just shy of 60 I knew I was in for a little bit, so what did I do to my wheel horse today?. Clean the carburetor, resealed the fuel tank petcock on the bottom that was leaking like a sieve,   And clean all the grunge out of it, Replace completely melted voltage regulator plug with quality marine terminals,

( Still not charging )  Change the oil, cleaned up the points so I can start it as new ones and plug have been ordered,  Adjust carburetor and governor,

  stared at it alot...  lol

At 1st I thought I made a mistake Getting it for the property but after correcting all the backwards things on it from p.o. it ran like a champ.   Got lots more to do as I know now it will be exactly what I need. Got lots of stuff to take apart clean adjust and re install.  Gotta get to the charging situation and get that fixed. But I think it's worth it.. seems like a good old horse.

Welcome to RedSquare!  Unique color selection, but it’s still a horse and it’s not green!

What a small world! Yes that's him, his name is George.    Nice guy seemed like he really liked the tractor and did not wanna get rid of it really.

Yup. He'll ship the same day or next day at the latest. I've ordered from him 3 or 4 times. Unfortunately the smallest he looks to have is 2.7". :)

I grabbed “Steve” my C-81 down from the racking, I need to finish the build on my David Bradley gearboxed Jari sickle mower and put him to work!

Took my niece for a stroll on Stormy through the field and around the yard too!
