Got the pulling hitch all welded

up.

Crunch time now. Only 2 weeks until the first pull.

Spend about 5 hours today change oil greasing all 3 horses. Sharpen blades on 36 in RD deck and pressure washed it so I can work on rust spots tomorrow . Have to lube both decks and sharpen blades on 42 inch rd tomorrow. Hope to have picture of me with herd tomorrow for supporter cards.

Started working on cylinder 1 head for my 246.  Cut myself good on my left hand with a gasket scraper for a little scare. Got the valves lapped in the head, set the exhaust guide back to the correct height in the head.  Had to order a couple more valve seals, valve keepers and head bolt washers.  Why the valve gasket kit only comes with 2 valve seals and no head bolt seal washers is beyond me.  Kinda enjoying working on this thing though.

I had some scraps left over from my FEL build and I needed some front weight for my 314-8 for when I have the sprayer on the back. I already had a small receiver hitch for the front so I built a smaller version of the weight rack that I made for the 520.  I just need to clean it up and spray a little paint on it.   With the two 42 pound weights and the bracket it weighs between 85 and 90 pounds.

Saturday April 21, 2018 I put my Wheel Horse mid grader blade on my 603  to take to shows this year!

 

Looks pretty cool if you ask me!

 

Also painted up the tins on an 8 HP Kohler recoil start motor !

It was savable for sure but pics made it look better than it was. Now the 312 done except for a new saddle and shoes. (See, I'm gettin this). Call or message any time johnny. You and, @Horse Newbie in Monroe only guys I got down here. I find stuff all the time and will keep you in mind.

No problem at all. And Thanks for the consideration, Just glad to know of another Red Square member close by. I really need to get the 3 other non running Wheel Horses finished before I buy anymore, but if a nice 414 -8 came along or C Series I would take a look.  Johnny Walker

Put a new ignition switch on the 876 (I converted it to a relay system a few years ago after having problems with the original switch). Removed the snow thrower from the 520-HC and put the deck on. My neighbor welded a section from a scrap deck on the left side where it was rusted out. I think it turned out good!

More progress on the Work Horse pulling tractor. I got the wheelie bars mocked up and ready to weld and paint tomorrow.

 

Hopefully by the end of the week I can get the body work painted.

Got my lights wired on my 701.  Bracket is some of my handiwork, but the lights and switch are genuine😀.

Just noticed the eerie set of ghost eyes in the dark photo.  Ghost of horses past?💀

Got the Vredestein V61 tires on the front of the 416. Easier to steer and no more air leaks!

This is how the 500 Special sat just over a year ago while still in Florida. It still sits just like that but now it's in our Indiana garage. I just didn't have the time to work on it.

 

 

But today I took advantage of a fairly decent day. The belt guard is done, All the seat components are done. The fender is ready for final sanding and red paint. I'm using the seat mounting setup like the mid 70's B/C-series had with the flip forward mount but this one won't flip because the fender flips back.

 

 

Now to find a sickle mower for it.

Thanks Richie. It's sooooo close and I'm anxious to get it done and see how she runs. I've hated to neglect it for the past year but you certainly know how priorities go. I've got to disassemble the recoil and see what I screwed up when I put it together. It wobbles if I try to pull the rope. It wasn't like that before I did my handy work on it.
