Looked at the RJ SPR- 42 manual and parts list for the RJ snowplow/ dozer blade I am redoing this am.  I was surprised to see that the original RJ plow used a tool pin to angle the plow!

Do you know what engine that is? Looks like an Ideal but I've never seen one with the exhaust exiting the top of the head.

Lane Ranger:

What paint system (brand, primer, typ, etc.) and color did you use to repaint your plow? Is there a manufacturer that makes “official” Wheel Horse red?

I do not. It is an air cooled hit or miss which I don’t think I’ve ever seen. I didn’t get to talk to the owner.
I’d love to see it run. It has the drive belt pulley mounted to the crank behind the flywheel. Very well done.

dropped the 42 " r/d deck after i cut a lot o leaves in reverse , just to see the difference , worth  the try , and much finer mulching , also an added benefit was the dry leaves have a sandblasting effect on cleaning. soaked down underside with chain and cable fluid and sat in hot sun to soak it in , zero rust and cleans up easily, also installed a recently acquired 42" plow and frame , that i stripped down and wet oil sanded . concentrated on  steering quadrant box , clean up and lube, also tightened up lever linkage with washers to firm up action / response. 24" pipe wrench  easily improved the lever clearance around muffler . the lever action is smooth and and solid , like a rifle bolt. now i have to convert the other two horses over to snow time , pete

I did a bit of looking around and it appears to be a 1.5 HP Associated "Busy Boy". Can't say I've ever seen that model before.

All I know is it’s about the most expensive WH repower I’ve seen! 😁

Tach-a-matic

The original seat pan was rusted through so a "new" seat was installed today

It came off of this model. IMO this series should not have had the "Wheel Horse" name on the hood.  The Vanguard single still runs good but everything else around it is worn out and its not worth fixing :(

I wasn't complaining Jonah @ZXT.     Just seems funny for a 22yo to be called a senior.

I don't know how it happened so fast,  but this 26yo got stuck in this 76yo body. :confusion-questionmarks:

I'll be 49 in December but I've been 5 for quite a while.

Seems about the same ratio.

I just use Regal Red Rustoleum.    Been using it for years.

Call it standing engine, or stationary engine they‘re in the past used for Friction Belt driven Systems.

Something like this

Took the weights off the loaded wheels that was on the 68 Commando 8 and swapped them over onto the 877 which will be the plow tractor this year.  Put  the axle bracket on and then the plow.  Put the front wheels on that have the weights and roller chains.  All that's left to do is put the chains on the rear wheels at some point.

Now both tractors are ready for work

What wheels are on that snow thrower ? My snow thrower just has little metal wheels. Would love to have mine like this.

Bought a very beat up snow thrower but it had the flag and rod to raise and lower the thrower and that’s the part I was missing. Paid $35 for the whole thing.

It's either a Chore Boy Aircooled, or a Busy Boy. About the only difference that can explain that is the igniter trip. They are otherwise the same engine. I have an A/C Chore Boy 1.5 myself. Not too common for sure.

..Today? Put the old tub cart vacuum to work!

Very cool! Do you have many hit or miss engines? I'm definitely into them as well.. Have a number of Stovers, a 6 HP Gilson, a couple of Ideals, and quite a few others. I'm sure there's a bigger following of them up there than there is down here.

I have had quite a few. Stover K 1.5, KB 3, CT2, and a T 5 hp. Associated Colt, Wonder Boy, and Chore Boy. A handful of typical F&M Z series engines. An early Waterloo 3hp.

Biggest to date, a 5hp Desjardins.

Dozen others including an FB Briggs and a Maytag 92 washer. A few marine engines too, and some small steam.

I believe the Associated Air Cooled, and other air cooled engines, had a slight advantage to places around here, mostly due to no fear of a freeze crack should one forget to drain the water.
