OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #12082 Posted July 1, 2021 Well my friend I turned onto Wheel Horses, by letting him use mine as they sell themselves, finally stumbled into the right deal on a nice one. He picked up this 417a with a 42" rear discharge deck and already rigged up with a box blade as well! Awesome find and happy a deal came together for him! He may be joining this place before long... Here's the rig! 8

Lane Ranger 10,968 #12086 Posted July 1, 2021 A big shout out to pfrederi ! Paul noted a way to test the regulator on a starter/generator tractor that involves running a test wire from field to ground with switch on . I had a bad regulator on my 702 and did not know it. The regulator had shorted out with the generator wire lead under the regular grounding out on the s/g housing. 4
squonk 41,136 #12087 Posted July 1, 2021 Seen quite a few of those wires under the regulator burnt up Lane. 4

WheelHorse520H 708 #12089 Posted July 1, 2021 (edited) Went to a junkyard with my brother to get parts for his car and saw a cool 211-5 that I wish I had more money with me to buy. I was walking by and saw the hood and realized what it was and had to look at it. Edited July 1, 2021 by WheelHorse520H 2
formariz 11,987 #12090 Posted July 1, 2021 Went to replace belt cover on my 520 and found some real nastiness . Sometime in its life the slack on the starter cable got tangled in a couple of different parts such as the belt, steering sector and it looks like the PTO also. It had some good slices. Refitted a new cable and routed it and secured it properly. Been wanting to drill my cover for a long time but I found these nicely done ones at the show. What a difference. The amount of air coming out of there is astounding. Some peace of mind about rear cylinder now. 10

Rain stopped. Ponchos removed. Started to rain ... Had ponchos stayed in place it would have been guaranteed dry weather. It looks like You could have the answer to the drought/wet weather conditions we are suffering from on both sides of the pond! If the folks in the States that are affected by extremely high temperatures etc, send us, over here, all of their ponchos and wet weather gear, and in return, we will send Sun cream and sun shades. This is guaranteed to bring you cooler weather and rain, and I’ll be able to cut my hay and dry it before Christmas! 1
8ntruck 7,013 #12092 Posted July 2, 2021 Got the PTO clutch back together. Seems that the C clip has been out of its groove for a long time. When I went to reconnect the PTO rod to the clutch lever, I had to back the adjustment reunion off to the long side of midway in the adjustment threads. @ebinmaine turns out that I will be able to use up more of the clutch lining. Got the input pulley properly attached to the input shaft. Seems that took care of the rattle n the drive belt area. Got it all back together and looked around for some grass to test it on. The neighbor's empty lot next door was a little past needing mowing, so I reved the Horse up and tore into it. The clutch was still slipping on the first past, but two turns tighter on the trunion fixed that. 2nd gear, full throttle, lopping 3" off of the grass, full width cuts - no problem. The neighbor came over and thanked me for mowing her lawn. I thanked her back for letting me use her lawn as a test plot. I also offered to mow that part of her lawn if it needs mowing when I have the Horse out and running. She liked that idea. 4
