What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Today I learned: decarbonizing heads on a Kohler Magnum single is so quick and easy it should be considered criminal negligence that I've not done it till now. Literally a couple bolts to remove the top tin and then the head bolts themselves and it's off.

The tools of this trade for me today was an old toothbrush and my favorite carb cleaner Berryman's B12. I couldn't find my nice brass bristle brush but I'm sure that would have made the job go even quicker.

@squonk You are right about the pump being higher Napa. Only $18.00 higher than I paid (that includes shipping )

That's pretty awesome.

We do enjoy processing firewood.

Good exercise and fun with machinery.

A Woodfire is also a different heat than coals.

When i lifed in my RV, i have a Woodstove inside and the Clima inside it was pretty different if you heat it with Wood or with coals.

Shure, the coals give a longer heat especially over night but i preferred normally the Wooden heat.

For some reason‘s i used over night coals...

Especially after the one Winter night,

i believed it‘s not too cold with 6 deg C, outside i have not put some wood in immediately, i can refire it later and continue my sleep.

The next day i woke up in an  -10deg C Cold room (outside the Bed) .. wtf -

after that day i automatically woke up if temp goes below 17 deg.C that keeps until today.

That's right. I expected about 20 bucks. Just like buying local. If there is ever a warranty issue, I like being able to get it handled quickly. I bought a hand held tachometer online 2 months ago. Good price. Well it wasn't accurate. I had to send it back which I had to pay $10 to ship, wait for it to get there, and then once they decided yes it was defective, wait 3 more days for a refund.

My brother brought his family over last weekend.  My nephews have never been here and they have driven a pontoon before, but never anything with wheels.  We had a blast indeed..  I’m glad Putt Putt’s steering roll pin fiasco happened to me this weekend!

Boy, Spring sure sure is taking its sweet time coming to your neck of the woods! Our trees are leafed out and throwing shade already.

Had some friends over Saturday night.  Adam and I took a trail ride around the field since they just planted.  We were about 1/2 mile away and I lost the roll pin from the fan gear to the steering shaft on Putt Putt.  I ended up sticking it in reverse and riding home on the front hanging weight kicking the tires to steer it.  Adam cruised ahead to look for a bolt for temporary steering.  He found what I needed, about 60 yards from the barn!  I stuck a couple bolts on top of the gas cap to remind myself Putt Putt needs fixin’ before work again.  I believe I’ll weld the fan gear to the shaft, or replace it with an already welded one.

Sorry y’all, I have no proof of pictures... but we did scout a couple good deer runs and a nice tree to set up a stand!

When my Tillotson engine died, I just had a family member pull me back to the shop with the old John Deere zero turn...

Worked like a charm!

Don

@pullstart that looks like you guys had a great time. Memories abound. It's always great when family can get together like that. Seeing your tow behind makes me want something like that.

If our trees thru shade rite now we would all freeze to death. Even on the warmer days the breeze picks up. We havent had a T-shirt day yet.

rear bumper / hitch

You have a support going down to the cross pin?

Can't tell from the pics....

The way you have that bolted on you can swap to a plow bracket if you want.

Good planning.

I ran across another tractor this afternoon. It's on an abandoned property. According to the neighbor he is still around and gave me the owners phone number. Cant tell from the road if its hydro or standard. Its mid 80s ish. While typing this the guy called me. Apparently there are 3 WHs 2 standards ,1 Hydro. Fingers crossed we can make a deal.

Oh I have a pile of them. I probably have 30 riding mowers here. I have 2 more to pick up next door to where the WHs are and the owner gave me permission to walk around to check the WHs out. Wonder what else I will spy.
