I was wondering, in the second pic, the cast iron hitch thingy that holds your dirt attachment and lifts it also, I was wondering how strong they are. I have one also but I didnt use it for fear of breaking it pulling the new box scraper. I have often thought though of turning in a kind of 3 point hitch, so the only real forces on it were lifting and the real pulling strenth would come from attaching the bottom part of the 3 point hitch to a stronger positon underneith??? I guess Im asking if anyone has broken one? What was it used on to break it?

I’ve never seen one break personally.  I believe they are cast steel, stronger and less brittle than cast iron.  I could absolutely be wrong though.  As Maxwell pointed out, the lift cable is usually the weakest link in an old machine.

Won't be as tough as you think with a Bear 🐻 leaning on it. 😉

Picked up a beautiful old snow thrower that came on a Raider 12 from another local collector today.  As this is the 3rd one I've bought in the last year, I'm hoping I actually got one that'll fit one of the tractors in my fleet 😆

Also got some headlight parts in from @ebinmaine , but haven't got them into action yet.

I exercised my no name today.  Used it to tote tools and materials for a raised bed keyhole garden bed we are building.

What did I do to my Wheel Horse today ?... I rode it !

Took my 1994 520H to inspect the curb and gutters on the next street over.

Thing is...I have a question...

My volt meter occasionally jumps up to 16 volts, almost in the red, then quickly back down to 14 volts where it is most of the time.

Question...

Is this okay if it just occasionally jumps up, then comes back down ?...and does it sound like I need to go ahead and replace the rectifier/ voltage regulator ?

The frame is looking good, but that's one SWEET pedal tractor. I'd pedal my butt all over the yard on that bad boy 🤪. Might not be able to stand up after but so worth the ride.

I have seen the ear the cable attaches to snap off.

Wrong season for this .. but finally got around to adding a UHMW Strip to the 56" Plow along with a new set of Armor Shoes.  Paid as much for the built to order Armor Shoes as I did for the plow (I did get it for a really good price though!) but was not impressed with anything else I could find for such a heavy plow.  I went with a 4" puck mounted to a standard 3/4" shaft. Would highly recommend if anyone is looking for replacements based on the exceptional build quality.

I'm getting so close now I can taste it. Oh wait that may be carbon monoxide and paint overspray.

The exhaust stack base of the Cinnamon Horse C160 had been leaking since not long after I installed it.

This morning I removed the stack and spacer. Cleaned them. Sanded them. Applied some Walker exhaust sealer.

All back together so we'll see how it goes.

Nice shot. So how long does that take to set up?

Doesn't say in the packaging or directions.

I let it set for 10 or 15 minutes then drove it for about the same.

Seems mostly there.

Are you guys referring to the slot hitch?
