haydendavid380 759 #10776 Posted April 26, 2021 Back to work after a couple of weeks off. Wife was getting tired of not being able to park inside, so I had to straighten everything up until next weekend. All the horses put to bed

We've not had any implements to drive with the engine..... But soon..... I have the Mckissick chipper to put into action. Also the generator implement I've had sitting around. At some point I'd like to try a hand at building an engine driven air compressor as well. Cinnamon's big K341 will be a great driver for any of them. I may also put a PTO on the Charger 12. Now that you mention it maybe I could install a self-inflating system like our tractor trailers have. Actually what got me thinking about it in the first place is that I have a compressor that has a bad tank bottom. On this site there are a few threads that mention most useful implements or different implements or ones you wish you had, etc. Back in the late sixties an air compressor was available and it would come in quite handy around my acreage.

Tuneup 1,433 #10781 Posted April 26, 2021 I listened to the list, getting guilty that I waited too long to change the 516's oil since the re-ringing. Those rings are now sealing nicely and it's been about 2 hours of run time. Mowed the lawn and drained it hot. Ewwwww! The PO just didn't take care of the inside of this engine so it has darkened walls that will take extra time to get clean. More frequent changes in the near future to get this better but she's running like a champ Fresh Rotella and a little ZDDP and we'll go again.

I agree by general principle but I don't have good access to an electric PTO without spending mucho moolah on one. Nearly all of the builders and construction companies in the area have gas powered air compressors. Some of those have compressors that run 100% of the time and the kick out is a mechanical valve that just lets the air travel out of the tank instead of building pressure. Unless I tripped over a cheap electric PTO I'd be more likely to use something like that.

That’s where Putt Putt’s engine came from. I think when we moved, the rest of the unit and the leaky tank were scrapped

Lane Ranger 10,968 #10800 Posted April 26, 2021 Knocked out the last of the rivets in a 42 inch knife bar section for a Wheel Horse tractor. Cleaned off more rust on the edges of the knife bar and oiled it down. Next step will be installing new blades and rivets! The Johnson Sickle Servicer tool should make installing new blades and rivets much easier than ever before! 2
