Just need to finish up painting the front wheels, and get all the new tires on. Still need to find a pair of caps for the front.

A couple of parts orders came in today.

The new seat looks amazing! Got a chrome lug set, a little piece to fill the grill until I get my headlights sorted out, a plug for the hour meter hole, and some filters.

I put the headlight lens that arrived in the mail from @Darb1964 today:

Before:

After:

How does the headlight bucket come out?  Looks like mine is riveted to the hood.  The left hand socket is sketchy and the white paint on the bucket is shot and needing a re-spray.

Yup . Drill out the rivets. I use small screws and nuts to reinstall.

Yessir. Like @squonk said drill it out.

I have some cheap imported replacement sockets that are TWO wire.

I got them to ensure better ground.

I'd send a couple if ya like.

@haydendavid380 that seat is beautiful. Did you share your source?

The headlamp filler is cool too.

I'd almost be prone to keeping that in and adding headlamps outside.

The seats are done by a gentleman named Matt Castagno. He had ads on the Wheel Horse Groups on Facebook. If anyone wants his contact info, message me. I don't want to post someone else's info on the open web.

Don't the blades rear up, or cringe when that 'yaller' gauge touches them?

Its a great tool!

To measure front to rear deck pitch

  • Place tractor on a flat and level surface,
  • Line up the blades to a North/South orientation,
  • Position the tip of the tool underneath the outermost corner of the "north" blade tip,
  • Lightly push up on the tip of the tool so it just kisses the bottom blade and see what the reading is
  • Repeat for the south blade and check the reading
  • As shown above, my deck is just about level so the front of the deck could be lowered a smidge to give it some downward pitch. I'd raise the deck wheels a notch on the lever but thats already maxxed out.

For side to side measurement turn blades to East/West.

  • Take a reading underneath the outermost West (left) blade's tip corner
  • Take a reading underneath the outermost East (right) blade tip corner
  • Hopefully it is close because I dont think a WH deck has any side to side adjustability

Now that you mention it there was some cringing going on and that's just not right

Matt took care of my gt14 seat for Skittles..... just haven’t put it on yet. Want to wait till I finish painting her. They do great work.

I'm accustomed to stiff dirt bike tires with tubes/rim locks so these are a piece of cake.

if you have a rear discharge deck - they disperse clippings much better when the front is raised

Howdy guys!

So... this past weekend... it was raining, so I made an exhaust stack for my L-157. I got my Tillotson 212r put in... (runs great), but I do plan to swap back to my Tillotson stage 1 (governor removed) once I get the parts I need to fix it...

I ran the exhaust piping through what was the gas filler hole. I did also put a steel flap (10 dollars at a farm store) on the top of the exhaust pipe (not shown in these photos).

I fabricated a cupholder and a piston shifter, (the piston came out of my original Tecumseh engine!).

I think the black engine with the black tractor looks exceptional!

Here are some pics:
