Finished off most of the wiring, minus the starter and starter solenoid and then just need to get the remote filter mounted and give it a go!

Woah that looks like so much fun.....

has not been too bad, really. i've been picking at it for a month or so an hour here and an hour there. fits reaaaaallllly snug, but, it fits. i had a NOS "big block" onan (n52m) that i bought in 2014 that i am finally getting around to putting together and transplanting. also doing a lot of things things i've put off on the 520h, like installing the foot control kit, remote oil filter, fixing the lights, etc.

I do enjoy turning wrenches and as much as I like making things look nice and making wiring look good I hate wiring lol. I'll do it just rather work with metal and build sumthing. Looks great tho. 520 is on my bucket list.

Pushed her back to the garage with some bummed kids...

Just got chance to look at it. Blown 25 amp fuse... Hhmmm... never had that happen. :confusion-confused:

Popped new fuse in and she fired right up...

Blown 25 amp fuse

When I wired Cinnamon Horse C160 I put a maxi fuse in the battery cable and a 25 in the main ignition switch feed wire.

Ran for 6 or 8 months fine.

Plowing snow one NIGHT in the @#$&)+$. Road it died dead dead nothing dead died.

Damn.

Pushed it about 10 feet to the driveway and tossed a new fuse in.... no trouble since........

an amazing assortment of shoulder bolts

I checked that out Roger.  What I found is that they didn't seem to have any that were longer than 2" and I would need 4" .  Maybe I was looking at the wrong thing?

making my pins

I thought of that myself Lee.  One small problem I had was that I only had two pins.  The side of the deck that was crashed had a 1/4-20 bolt and a bunch of washers with some hokey steel wheels on it.  I would have had to make a new plate too.  Not a big deal but thinking about it I came to the conclusion that if I outlive the metal tube I used it's a simple matter to just cut a new piece of tube and slip it in there.  These should last at least 10 years I think.

Have you seen the new pins?  1/2" rod bent in a 90° and the end flatted and drilled for the bolt.  Those are the ones that are almost $20 a pop.

Yes they have been around since the 90's. I bought a set back when they were cheaper and on sale. I original bought spindle assembles including pulley and blade for $27.98 plus tax. I bought one a couple of years ago with out nuts pulley or blade around $150..

Toro wants us to buy a new mower isn't going to happen. You might want to check this fall to make sure the tube is not turning a waring the bracket.. I had the welds to brake on my rear roller shaft and ware the bracket I just welded on some 1/2" collars to fix that.

You need to clean the spindle housings good and put a good coat of paint on them to protect them as the acid in the grass eat them away. My decks need a good going over as I didn't get to it last year.

They are from a Gravely 566. Origanally the hubs went on a tapered, keyed shaft. I drilled them out and made some bushings/spacers for them. The rims are a match to those. They're 2 piece rims. 8"x4"

I extracted the aerator from the shed today and took it for a spin round the lawn. Despite two large concrete blocks added to improve the penetration, I made little impression. I think I may need to get a little more aggressive, but will wait till the weather warms up and the grass starts to grow again!

Mounted up the starter generator on the 1257Heavy and then installed the steering column for more mocking up. Tested the starter generator out once installed and got to see the engine turn over by somthing other then my hand so that was nice!

They may be OK. But....If they are correct, I think your tractor may be bassackwards. I think, :confusion-confused:anyway. Maybe not.:dunno:

It is going to be beautiful though.
