cschannuth 3,816 #9378 Posted February 21, 2021 I built a front bumper and weight rack similar to the one I have on my 606 today. I was so proud of myself for figuring out exactly how far outfront the weight needed to be to still allow the hood to open. However, when I went to install my bumper I forgot that the big block engine uses a J bolt a long side of the frame so I had to notch my new creation. It wasn’t that big a deal but it did aggravate me, ha ha. I also drilled a hole in the cross brace so that I can add a pin to drop between the plow frame rails to illuminate side to side blade deflection. I still need to finish that piece of it. 8

Tuneup 1,433 #9381 Posted February 21, 2021 (edited) Not quite springtime in Georgia USA as yet but it's warm enough to get seat time. I adjusted the 516 deck lift bolt and the brake according to procedure - still a bit looser than I'd like - and then took it out and lugged it around the yard with its 48" deck engaged to work on getting the rings sealed. I hate running low RPM on an automatic but I didn't climb anything steep. Best I could do. She ran like a champ and that Onan is a torque monster - a real keeper. Time to order a new brake lining... Budda-bing! One more rmaynard lining purchased... Edited February 21, 2021 by Tuneup

johnnymag3 2,520 #9384 Posted February 21, 2021 Does this pushing out of the Wheel and Tire cause undo stress on the bearings? I know it does on cars and trucks, but Im unsure of what the bearing is doing when only the outer part of the bearing is seeing load and preload... ??????????????????? Thanks ????????????????

It does increase the radial load on the bearing, but I doubt if it causes a bearing failure. Edit... Actually on rethinking, I don't believe the bearing load changes. The bending load on the axle does increase. Edited February 21, 2021 by Ed Kennell

Over time, it has to have an effect on the bearing....as It was made to be loaded in the center of its entire width, correct?? Or doesn it matter beacause its not going to do 25,000 miles at 55 MPH...... Just wondering as a guy who often dealt with stress and function, plasigauge in many applications... I've had 3" spacers on Cinnamon Horse until recently. I removed them to put them on Colossus. The C160 now has 2" spacers. They're needed because I have "other brand" wheels with the wrong back spacing. 1

Ull probly b able to pull just as much as u were b4 and the cool factor goes way up. Thos spacers for 12 inch rims been on flea bay all the time pretty cheap just a I belive metal collar that sets in lip of rim then u sent long bolt though and keeps the spaced and not able to shift around when hit stuff like rocks or bumps.
