With that third member on the deck lift bracket he would not need the weight. I added one like you showed me and it leveled my deck up.

Thank you sir! I picked up that deck from a 416XT. I will be mounting it to my 416H and installing the bags for grass cutting duty. Those rear tires will also be going on the dedicated grass cutting machine.

Wide tires and a 42" decks don't work well together. The deck wheels and the wide tires try to be at the same location. Can't see that deck well but I think it's a 42".

Got around to looking at the 312-8 that wouldn't start. Check the spark plug it didn't look good so I put a new one in and it fire up. It had been using oil until I change to Rotella 30 weight two years ago.

Ever time I have checked in the last six months it's been full.

How much life do you get out of a spark plug nowadays Lee?

 

I put a new one in my c160 a couple years ago when we put it back together. Engine has unknown hours on it.

I can't imagine it's got a 100 hours on it but it might. Plug was all nasty and black looking.

Put a new plug in and it fired right up perfectly happy.

I run spark plugs for a long time, this one ran in my trim mower for maybe 20 years but I replaced it needlessly.

Surprisingly, the 656 will move more snow than you might think with that plastic snow plow. Unfortunately, some wet snow and some snow banks kind-a did a number on my 3/8" eye bolts. Guess they just weren't made for that.

It was time for a re-design. With a little pipe and a few bolts, I think it's much more rigid now.Of course any good plastic snow plow needs a precise, carefully calculated amount of weight, to make it work properly. Mine turned out to be a 42" cardboard tube, filled with bird seed. It took me a long time to find a program on line to figure that out. A plow this nice needs a better system for lifting. I am working on that. It just might be that I over built the frame mechanism, and I might break my plow. Time will tell.

I do want an epoxy floor. Maybe a 2022 project...

 

The 16HP Onan with its fresh rings is off the bench and mounted. The Cummins gaskets arrived last night and, man, they are different than the eBay garbage I had on it! I had to make a bushing with a nut, file and drill so the throttle linkage is now as it should be. It was late and the wiring should be re-routed post muffler add but I had to know I did it right so shot a little Gumout in the carb and hit the starter. She fired for a second and my new, uncalibrated adjuster on the little Eaton7 helped it lurch forward. Good stuff. The new parts on that adjuster were so tight, it took a fair amount of grinding and sanding to allow for a smooth travel of the shifter. I'm just a good fuel line away from breaking this thing in with its new-to-it 48" deck, thanks to my friend in Sharpsburg. I'll get to that 520H next, guy. The 516H will be the go-to mower this year. There is just something about a WH that was produced for only one year. Makes me feel kinda special.

When we built our house about ten years ago I used the two-part epoxy floor finish with sprinkles in the garage and it has held up very well. On a used surface you will need to do a through cleaning (probably twice) with muriatic acid.

My floor is almost 30 years old. It has a lot of sealer on top. Except for a few places where I messed it up, it has an almost glass finish. So maybe I am outta luck.  I just thought the epoxy finish looked nice, and it might cover the few bad areas.
