This morning took a drive to ct and picked up this 1960s vertical mower. Havent found any info or pics of one like it. Came with a complete 1962 briggs model 14 which i will be taking off and selling for a predator. May paint it wheel horse colors as well. Its a west point products model vc-6. Cool little vintage machine thats 100 percent complete.

It is a great engine, just not for this application. Rather than spending time wreching on this one which doesn't even have a starter/recoil, i can spend 99 dollars and 5 mins bolting on a bramd new modern engine and have a working piece of machinery. Its not a collectable machine im not worried about keeping it era correct, and someone else can pay me 100 bucks or so for the complete 14 and finish a restoration with it. Win-win in my book.

today‘s testrun on the Engine with the changed Charging Coil give me a great Result.

After a Oilservice ( had before 5W30 in it and change it to 10W30) it runns now smoothly and nice nearly without blue Smoke.

A little oilsmell can be sniffed, but far from the ammount before.

but however a hone and new Pistonrings are still on the Plan.

I looked at the parts diagram for an 1988 518-H and did not see any bulbs or bulb sockets on there.

You do see those gauge  light holders on each gauge on there from the back side of the dash. Have a good day.

I have not removed the emblems or decals, but I would recommend a cheap heat gun like from HF to help soften the adhesive to aid in removal.https://www.harborfreight.com/1500-watt-dual-temperature-heat-gun-56434.html

@WVHillbilly520H   I was at HF yesterday and started to grab a heat gun...I have been using an old hair dryer as a heat gun for heat shrink tube and such...

Do you think a hair dryer would heat it up enough ?...prolly not huh ?

Better than nothing,

heatgun can cause a melting surface if too long on the same spot.

when it‘s hot enough for a heat shrink tube, it‘s definitely hot enough for your needs.

Probably will do the trick and have less likelihood of paint damage.

Should work. Heat right behind the logo on the inside of the hood and it should pop off.

Thanks for the input. @WVHillbilly520H

The decals...at least the only one I've removed so far (rear seat pan) came off pretty easy by pulling it back on itself at a hard angle, until you get to a tear...then a razor blade gets it started again.

I removed the decals with a hair dryer.  Just take your time and try to heat the metal as you go.  The emblem will come loose by carefully prying it up while the hair dryer keeps the back side warm.

I did a lot of this in the body shop, I like to use a sharp flexible putty knife with the sharp part toward the emblem. If not wanting to scratch paint, I put tape around the emblem, spray foaming glass cleaner on the emblem, tape and blade. Then just push it right under and it will the cut the two sided tape right off the emblem. Used this method on 80,000 dollar new suburbans to put blackout emblems on. Then use heat to get the tape off. Highly recomend 3M two sided tape to reinstall.
