Tractorhead 9,064 #7207 Posted October 20, 2020 Decided today to partial cleanup my Deck and refresh it a bit to prevent further rusting. firstly i Clean it all with a Wirebrush and Brakecleaner combo. works like a charm, but a little mess.. and clean all Parts completely until it‘s only blank steel. Than i prepared the Parts again and Painted them at first coat with ruststopper ground. After 20 min i paint it in RAL3003 Ruby Red. in my opinion that‘s a true Horse Color.. so i did this first partially with the whole Mowerdeck, to see how it looks. Sections i wan‘t painting will be not prepared at all. that‘s not a restoration, it‘s just rustprevention... Give it a 5 surfaces wet in wet and forgot in the first try, to hide the Labels, but cleaned them immediately. The undersite of the Deck was hardly attacked by moisture over the times. Time to protect it again a bit. While driying, i resharpened the Blades. While painting, i permanently took care on the Old Label‘s, that they can stay on the Deck. While on last longer mow action i hear a not nice sounding noise, so i decided to change the Bearings on the Deck. Pressed them in and out with the Vice by Aluminum clamps - easy doing and at least i set them bit more to mount the Seal. Than i complete the Spindle and remounts the old Belts for the moment. after all was finished i sat it 2 hour‘s for drying and enforce that with the Heatgun. that was just a test to see, if my Doing will last. After 3,5h all was Dry and i mount the Deck and set it outside for another hour... So we be back in Service again... .... time for a Testrun... 6 5 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Flushed and filled the transmission Rebuilt the carb Rewired the tractor New fuel lines Transmission drive pulley and key Rear hub and key Repaired hood hinges Tightened the tie rods Battery I'll be using it this year as my plow tractor, I feel like it will work out well. I can tell you from real world experience that it does. Trina's tractor is several hundred pounds lighter than mine and hers has less tendency to get stuck along with a very good ability to push snow given the size. Jhook 849 #7212 Posted October 20, 2020 Had about 30 mins of daylight after work. Removed the home made plow off the frankenhorse. Removed the battery as i wont need at anymore, but its a December 2019 battery that came in the tractor so thats a score. Pulled the rear end fill cap and water poured out, no big deal i planned to flush it anyways. Will add a new shift boot as well. Working overnights the next 2 days along with my regular 8 hours during the day. So the tractor will sit soaking in simple green for the next 3 days til Saturday then i will pressure wash the whole machine and start sanding to prep for new paint. Achto 27,609 #7217 Posted October 21, 2020 I'm happy to report that my 701 runs much better after rebuilding the carb. I also discovered that the sediment bowl was plugged tighter than ( add your own analogy here ). Some may have decided to get rid of it but I decided to keep it for sedimental reasons. That and I had a kit laying around to rebuild it. New screen, bowl gasket & packing for the valve. I also added an in line filter for good measure. The one tire is flat on the rear, but they threw in a set of Goodyear she that are not badly worn.but look just awful with ground in dirt. Pressure washer did not do much to improve the appearance. Next, I painted used motor oil on them, and pressure washed again. Some better. Then Marvel. Looking reasonable. Then I remembered that go kart racers use 100 percent wintergreen oil to soften rubber, and that Marvel smells like wintergreen somewhat. I see a hole in the middle of the Tower, what can maybe missused as an anchor point for a woolen tensioner. added a single light bended chainlink with two bigger washers, to destress the mountingpoint. in that chainlink You hooked the woolen tensioner, what will be attatched directly to a spring with about 15-20 Kilo springrate. the spring end is mounted to one free hole in the Lever. So the Springforce and length can be adjusted, how strong it supports the liftforce. Tractorhead 9,064 #7225 Posted October 21, 2020 Firstly in the morning a new Toy arrives... chakka - no longer a pleaseplease for Cutting my Steel. i ordered finally a Bandsaw for the Workshop for the Next Project. Than it was time to cleanup the Area, so i brought all my Machines out of Shed and give them all a adequate Seat time. I begin with the 656 Horse, what have the whole Area to mow, what it did like a Champ. The Mowerdeck runns smoothly and cuts quite well. Than i changer over to the 212 Horse, what cleans up all that Mess after cutting and the leaves. At least the Beast get it‘s Seattime, to dump the lawnsweeper Cart. than again the 212 and finally again the Beast. After all was done, i cleaned out my Horses with the Cleanout Lifter... did i mentioned, i love Hydraulic Force.. what an easy Cleaning procedure. 3 2 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
