Tried using a small transfer pump to fluid fill tires.  It works very well!

I recently did my rears. Used a manual siphon/transfer pump and worked even better than the garden hose/air adapter i have. Slid the hose right over the valve stem and pulled it off every half gallon or so to bleed the air. First time doing it for me but i filled 2 tires with 16 gallons of fluid in about an hour which i was pretty pleased with!! Ive been wanting a drill operated pump like that i will def buy one next time i see one.

Head gasket was leaking on the 1076, so I pulled the head and this is what I found.

So obviously I cleaned it all up and sanded the head to be sure it was flat

PXL_20201017_162225971.jpg.4d5bcb5377ad83d445af787af747527d.jpg

PXL_20201017_162217183.jpg.390f2ee609c9d39716c7d9ab4cd0dcf3.jpg

And put it back together. Torqued the head and ran it for awhile and got it nice and warm, let it cool and retorqued the bolts. I'll check it again after some more run time.

Sure looks alot better, should run some better also. Can you tell any difference in performance?

You  can do this with the top bead broken...and get 95 percent of the tire full

Next up was the carb on the Raider 12. And man was it nasty.

The float needed adjustment, and I think it was sticking because at times I had gas leaking out from the front of the carb. Seems to run better now. So all in all it was a good day.

been 20 years or more since that carb was used and ran....not bad................

aaand out comes a reworked mount hitch for a brandnew Idler pulley.

Painted in Ruby Red RAL 3003

Brilliant! My crazy old neighbor next door takes one of those little 6" cubed space heaters, points it at the painted parts and then covers the entire area with cardboard. Just the top, so the air flows.

Another idea of his (He has over 150 patents with IBM, so he's an old school idea guy)... Is your generator hard to start in the cold? When a big winter storm is on the way, put a 100w light bulb next to your generator and cover it with a cardboard box. She'll be nice and toasty by the time the power goes out.

The guy has a million brilliant ideas like what you did @Tractorhead

Remember my unnecessary post the other day about always pulling the carb when you suspect fuel trouble? This one's a great example. Probably nothing wrong with the carb itself, but if you don't know the engine, or haven't serviced it much, carb cleaner might make it work for a while, until that crap works loose, and jams you carb up. Over and over again. Pull the carb. Smart people like @rjg854 do, so why don't you? :D

I know I'm preaching to the choir, I just like to talk.

Maybe 1/2”?  It let air bleed out when I quit the drill but sealed for fluid.

The thing I notice the most is that it was really loud,  but it seems quieter. I'm not sure if the repair of the head has anything to do with it, it just might be my imagination.  But it does run better.

Could be, that if the Head was before not sat clean,
it now thights more after your rework and in fact it‘s more tight and in result it’s more silent.

if you feel its more silent, that‘s true and this should be a good sign,

except you are as deaf like me.. 😂

Di nothing on the Horse but a bit prevention to be able to work in Winter.

so i insulating my Part of the Barn on the inside.

At least i built a Toolboard for my self hiding tools i search most time..😂

And built at least a quick mount able high bright LED Bar to have enough light on the Work zones.

Not as milky as i thought but Came out the consistency of cottage cheese almost in chunks.

:confusion-confused:    Could be some acid was in there.              That is how cottage cheese is made, ad a bit of acid to whole milk and the milk solids separate from the whey.

My son and I removed the deck from the C-145 and installed the SNOWBLOWER! My son is so excited! The snowblower has not run on anything since 1996. I have the original manual and sales slip for it. This is his work machine. We are painting a fender for it and some more implement pieces for the future. I will be putting that plastic fender that is on the tractor now in the classifieds section if anyone wants it.

Appears it started life as a round hood of some type, what exact model # is anybodys guess at this point. '62-'64 era is my guess. You're at least gonna need a replacement hood to start putting it back to original.

So, factor that into your final offer on it.

Well i like it so im gonna pay him the 200 and go from there. Not bad in my opinion for a running plow machine. Will have closeups later when shes home! Excited for my 2nd ever wheel horse👍👍
