Interesting that for the same Sundstrand unit the JD filter does not cross to wix 51410

:confusion-confused:          If they keep it a secret they can overcharge JD owners or their "Proprietary" filter.               :sad-darkcloud:

That looks like a spring pin or a roll pin.  It should drive through the hole that it is in with the proper size punch.  Looks like access to do that might be a pain, though.

Had a bad day wrenching with a bit of good. First, I cleaned the ag wheels a bit that came with the twin black hoods. Soap and water and the paint is not really all that bad.  The stock wheels were left on the tractor for testing out the abrasive brush. Dry rust came off well and I am thinking of using that brush to rotate that wheel for sandpaper.

The rest of the day was spent trying to figure out why the C-121 became so hard to start yesterday. I am still not sure whether to look to fuel or spark issues.  i think that it is time to swap a known good coil and condenser to the thing and start from there.I tried to swap one component at a time and just made a mess.of things

The frame horns on the Black hoods are just as weak as the 4 and 500 series. broke right at the bolt holes.  Bed frame rails welded on should fix that later. that requires pulling the gas tank and pulling the tank means a new transmission filter. because the filter blocks access to the tank mounting bolt.. Just more fun if i have to order one.

If I'd known Skippy I have a nice 48 I have been contemplating selling. I could even have delivered it to the swap meet a couple of weeks ago!

If it says John Deere, Harley Davidson, Corvette, or dances on a stage, you're gonna pay for it!

Pull the shifter, loosen the dog point set screw and the shifter comes out.

Where exactly is the set screw located? Under the boot?

There will be a screw at the base of the shifter that has a jam nut on it. Loosen the jam nut then back the screw out.

The hole in the picture is where that screw goes into when it is installed in the transmission.

Awesome thanks. Is reinstalling the shifter as simple as placing it back in? Nothing hard to line up inside the trans?

That's all it is but sometimes it's a bit of a pita to line up that hole with the screw.

Those LSE's are some kinda awesome looking tractors, and you don't even have the wheels on yet. :bow-blue:

The rule I was taught back in the day was white spark is the best, blue is good, red is weak.

That machine is just too good to use. Do you know what year it is?

We had a brand new one at the dealership, no later than 1987, but man was she a beaut! Pretty sure the boss just ordered it to put on the showroom floor to flex. ;)

Chrome muffler, air cleaner, hub caps, high back leather seat with arm rests.

It's good to be the king!

That is freakin' awesome! I wish I could get my kids into them. They kinda roll their eyes when the old man starts talking about his WH.

It's all good though, they both have their own things they excel at.
