AMC RULES 37,127 #6402 Posted September 3, 2020 OK, I will concede, the belt guard does tie in with the overall appearance of the tractor much better now that it's one solid color. Pretty pleased with how it looks mounted up. Thing has a pretty good shine going on there. Just gotta decide if I can live with the original model number decal, or not. PeacemakerJack 10,738 #6409 Posted September 4, 2020 Much thanks to Tom @Shynon and Uncle Jim @WHX24 for keeping on me about purchasing this KW loader for Kelli’s Dxi. I was dragging my feet for awhile but with their urging, I made the run to Iowa and got it! It took me time to get it hooked up but today was the day I put it into service... Here it is with the brackets attached and ready to accept the loader frame. Todays project was to remove the old sandbox. It would’ve taken a lot of time with a shovel and a wheelbarrow! the view from the operators station. Obviously, with power steering this was a breeze to drive one handed. The foot controlled hydro allowed my left hand to manipulate the loader controls freely as needed. It is hard to express how much fun it is to play with this machine. I’m looking forward to making some modifications to the bucket for some other purposes and then finding more uses for it! in about 30 minutes I had the sand box pretty well cleared out. Turns out the entire trailer tips back so it becomes one big ramp which is supposed to make things easier. Well, lesson learned. Remove the tiller before driving onto the trailer! Lifted the front two tires and by the time I got them down they were on the tongue of the trailer. I also added front wheel weights to help when I go to remove the horse Saturday. Paint on the trailer is looking a little rough. It could probably do with a coat of WH red in the future. Some day i'll learn my lesson and stop doing wheelies with this tractor. Watch the machines on the construction sites and every once in a while you'll see a neat modification that you'll want to try at home. Like when scooping out that sandbox a row of teeth would help. A real sensefully add on for a FEL, is a Float valve for the Lift Cylindres. if suggested to change - i did it on Mine. I think it will also put the tires in a more favorable position (wheels on the cross beams) on the trailer. On the rear I was careful to choose a type of tire that runs a little bit large which is a Carlisle ag/bar type. I went 2 inches weider but stayed with the stock height. The rears are a 23 x 10.50 x 12. On the front I went a little more extreme. Stock size was a16 x 5.5. I went up to a 20 x 8. it's important to note that I don't run a mower so the height had very little effect on anything I do. I gained an inch in height in the rear and about 2 inches in the front. By increasing the size of the tires, wheels, and adding fluid weight I was able to bring the front weight up on the tractor by approximately 120 lb. If you don't want to increase the outside diameter of the tires so that you can maintain a stock height you could find some rims off of a later model and step up to 16 x 8.5 wide tires. Some day i'll learn my lesson and stop doing wheelies with this tractor. The tiller makes a good wheelie bar does it? I once borrowed the neighbor's disc after plowing my garden with my 8n. The disc was probably one size too big, even with some suitcase weights on the front of the tractor. Found out the disc was a good wheelie bar when I had stopped with both rear wheels in a dead furrow.
