WHNJ701 4,165 #6378 Posted September 2, 2020 Teaching myself vinyl seat repair, cut a few patch panels and glued them on the inside. The small tears you can't see anymore, the big hole is what it is. Not perfect but better than duct tape. Hopefully stuff some foam later tonight 7

I don't see any issues at all, I used marine grade vinyl patch behind it, marine sealer/glue which is strong and flexible, than used some black vinyl repair filler from amazon 2
johnnymag3 2,515 #6381 Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) you could actually make lines and design in the filler...to match the seat design..... Just my 2 worthless cents. ! It would create some irregularity in the filler Edited September 2, 2020 by johnnymag3

peter lena 8,580 #6385 Posted September 2, 2020 amc rules, pretty easy to take care of metal , everytime i see a rusty faded w/h the first thing i think about is giving it an oil bath , to stop the rust and start paint recovery , just the base color of your deck under the beading water , tells me that overall, the deck has been cared for, new wheels on it too! what a concept , pete
WHX?? 48,760 #6386 Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) Gave it a few taps with a SFH tonite and it slid right off! Tapped the hoobie threads right back to 5/16 and all is right in the world again. I was so happy I polished my shaft! Off to the sand blaster with the whole kit & kabodle now... then prime then paint. ... damn you Dan I think I got tunnel vision! Whoops... no wait... the dreaded rock shaft next..... any tips other than stock up on acetylene? Edited September 2, 2020 by WHX24 3

Last one I heated up to get apart the shaft just twisted inside the rockshaft, never got it out.
WHNJ701 4,165 #6388 Posted September 3, 2020 I added a couple more layers of black filler, I sacrificed a small piece of the vinyl underneath and pressed it in for the pattern, I think that's about as good as I can do. Best part that's it all done! Time to fire it up and get this one out of the shop! 5
Shed 248 #6389 Posted September 3, 2020 Just looking into tire sizes 13x6.5-6 stock turf tire can I put a 15x6-6 snowblower tire I have clearance it shouldn't effect power to much?

It's a toro walkbehind mower that I gave up on trying to repair the deck the people just never took care of it and let it sit with grass and pine needles in under the covers so I'm making a powered dump cart I was thinking it might need better traction tires in dirt unless new turf will give it enough

Far Superior traction to the turf tires. As to how much power you would lose by increasing the size it's hard to say. As you are obviously already aware you are going to sacrifice some low-end torque in favor of getting a little more top-end speed. If the unit you are working with already has plenty of power I wouldn't get too awful concerned about that.
Shed 248 #6393 Posted September 3, 2020 Its going to be my fire wood cart I plan to put a hydraulic pump with pulley to the electric pto that turned the mower deck on and off and have a lift hoist. So torque is better then high speed anyway it will be a cool project. It's not a wheel horse but it's still red and had a mixing with wheel horse so it's ok lol its 1994 with kohler 16 hp motor I thought if worst of it repower the old onans in the 416 but boy to much to flip that motor 1

Stormin 9,981 #6397 Posted September 3, 2020 The C-125 has not started right since I did the rebuild. Needed plenty of winding up and juggling of controls. Ran ok when started and I've been living with it. Today I decided enough was enough and set too to get it sorted. First I checked the points. They were a little wide so I adjusted the gap. Didn't help. So removed the air filter and squirted some fuel into the carb. Open the throttle, turn the key and it fired right up. Fuel pump? OK! I'll change that. Got a spare and tested it. Length of pipe on the inlet and end in some petrol. Worked the lever as fast as I could, and a nice jet of fuel shot out. So that was fitted. Still no joy. Decided to change the reconditioned carb I'd fitted, that a friend had rebuilt. Fitted the original carb and that has done the trick. Must be something in the recon' carb not just right. I'll strip it someday and see what I can find. Maybe the float wants re-setting. Definitely not getting enough fuel through.
AMC RULES 37,127 #6398 Posted September 3, 2020 Well, I had fun with my replicating years of accumulated patina project. So RIP, the before... just became the new after here today. 3

I've been getting decent overall results by removing as much as possible from the carburetor and leaving it to sit in that drink for anything from 2 or 3 days To a week. At that point I get hold of a can of brake clean. Spray each and every galley or hole through both directions for at least a second or two and just keep repeating that until the can of spray is gone. 1
