Pullstart 62,789 #6229 Posted August 23, 2020 The groom of the wedding came out yesterday and helped mow, do some general cleanup and fill some ruts with me. He got a good taste of what a handful of GTs are capable of! I accidentally loaded a bit more sand in the FEL on one side than the other and had a near miss while it tipped the left rear off the ground and stopped when the front end quit pivoting!

JCM 9,130 #6235 Posted August 23, 2020 Decided not to do any painting to the hood, side covers or rear fender I kinda like the worn look of the hood decals for a little character. I did use Meguiar's # 7 show car glaze to clean them up a bit. Rear fender got the artist brush to cover the chips with some Regal red, doesn't match but this tractor will be used but not abused and it will be parked in the garage and not the living room. Starting to come together. Also painted both footrests and saved the existing rubber pads for the 418-A as I had a pair of NOS footrest pads I bought a number of years ago from the WH dealer while they were still available. 1 5

It runs strong and fires on the first pull or key hit. It will stay, the hood was cut neat for the air cleaner 1

chip61 658 #6239 Posted August 24, 2020 Spent the weekend cutting tall wet thick grass. The tall grass in the background was the worst, haven't been able to cut that field for 4-5 weeks due to weather and mom issues. Would have preferred the bush hog, but it's out of commission and I haven't had time to work on it. I really hated to do that to this nice tractor, but it did the job! Gave it a good cleaning when I was finally done. 3

Gave it a good cleaning when I was finally done. reminds me of my 416 previous two years previous two years were among the wettest on record in our area (SW PA) - so wet high grass was all too common most areas of the yard were like a soaked sponge and some areas were worse with standing water - the 416 with mower blades spinning probably resembled a swamp boat / hovercraft Edited August 25, 2020 by tom2p 2
ArturHawk 175 #6247 Posted August 25, 2020 Got out this weekend to try the plow on my mom's garden. It hasn't been maintained for a few years so I wanted to turn the weeds and let them break down over the winter. Never used a moldboard plow before. This was the garden after removing some sticks that had been thrown in there. I didn't bring my mower deck up so my only option was to do a few laps and push the weeds down with my machine. They were taller than my muffler stack in some areas! The first attempt was pretty terrible. I got the dirt broken up, but it wasn't getting turned over and the blade wouldn't stay buried. After actually reading the manual, I made some adjustments, removed the Coulter blade and me and my buddy gave it another go. Unfortunately, we couldn't go too far as the entire garden is on a slope. With the right tires 5" in the furrow, I didn't want to risk tipping over. The bad attempts on the upper portion made it difficult to even drive over there. We did get a decent section turned. Going to go back in 2 weeks and grind everything up with the tiller. Even though the upper area want turned well, it still broke up the dirt and weeds quite a bit. We were going to do it this weekend, but my tiller belt seems to be too long. When it is tight the tensioner makes the belt rub on itself during the run toward the back of the tractor. I'll get a new belt and see how it goes. I think its a 1/2x 139? 2
