There's a simple loop hole in that permit thing, They can not say anything about a cooking fire, so grab a package of hot dogs & light er up.:thumbs2:

We’ve had ourselves a fair share of “cooking fires” when a burn permit was not given...  everyone loves s’mores!

After a variety of yard projects yesterday,  got five tractors out of hibernation and played with the kids for awhile.

Caleb had fun on Comanche.  I think we need to do a refresh on his 56 year old motor.  It smokes pretty good on startup but clears out decently after about 8-10 minutes of run time.

Claudia drove “JackRabbit” (418-C) and loved the fact that she was so much faster than the old 854 that her older brother was driving.  Not sure what Caleb was saying to her here but maybe something like, “just remember, that’s my tractor too!”

The little guys ran around on Cubs while I was on GhostRider.

It was a fun half hour or so!!!!

Attaboy Josh and crew!  Something good for the soul comes out of that drive time :handgestures-thumbupright:

My 312-H has a carb issue so I got the little 857 out of storage and brought to lake to mow. Runs and cuts great for about 30 minutes then dies. Let it cool for about 30 minutes and it's back to work for about 20 more minutes.

Thinking a new coil and or condenser?

Thought the same, maybe just the fuel tank breather is clogged.

Try it with released fuel tank cap, if it run‘s, you found you problem.

Or maybe some dirt in the bottom of the fueltank, that swaps sometimes and clogged the Fuel line.

edit - did you carefully touch your ignition coil?

Was it hot ?

- edit end

I wold think to my second option, release the fueltank and clean it completeley.

could be something that was in a fuel canister go into fueltank while refilling that clogs your fuelline while driving.

:confusion-confused:         Could there be a piece of trash in the tank that can't get past a partly open valve but would clog a full open valve?   May want to pull the tank and dump it into a clean container for inspection. Good luck.

Around here, If there isn't a burn ban in effect, and you're outside of the city limits, you can legally burn without telling anyone. If you're going to burn a huge brush pile, you're supposed to call the fire department and let them know what you're doing, just in case it gets out of hand they know where to go, and if anyone calls in saying they saw a lot of smoke at your place, they can save an unnecessary trip out.

The donor engine on my 520-H was having surging issues over the winter when I ran my snow blower (once) and hard to get the RPM in the correct range, so today I took the carb/intake manifold from the original Onan (because I knew it worked fine when I did the engine swap last fall) and swapped it with the donor. Runs great now. Idle at 1,200 RPM and full throttle at 3,600 RPM as advertised. Got it all put together and took the dump cart out for a tow before the storms rolled in.

I rethinkering on your cause, maybe the gap on the sparkplug can also be the issue.

i had this in the past, after changing the sparkplug, it run‘s fine.

the reason was maybe a thermal cause on the sparkplug.

The steering on the C-121 Black Horse, was a little heavy. Yesterday I did a bit of investigating.

I found that the track rod ends were just fouling the steering arms. The track rods slope downwards and the steering arms tilt inwards. So I knocked up a couple of spacers this morning. Just 1/4" thick and really need to be thicker, but I'd no bolts long enough to fit through thicker ones. Another future mod one day.

If you look closely at the photo, you can see the top of the spacer is slightly chamfered. Also you'll see the arm is further down from the axle than standard. That's because I made spacers to lift the front end an inch, to compensate for the taller tyres on the rear.

Not done a proper road test yet. I'll do that tomorrow. The rest of the day was spent getting the C-125 running better and  made a towing attachment for the Sears/Roper.

I gave my horses a new stable in the form of a harbor freight 10x17 portable shed. They like their new home way better than living out in the yard under tarps.

I got two of the big ones! :happy-bouncyshadowgreen: They're both filled up now:handgestures-thumbupright: The last picture is how the second one in the first picture looks now. Lots of projects for quarantine and soon to be retirement! I don't know what being bored is like :laughing-rolling:

@pullstartI ruined one of the spindle rods. I assume that’s the name. It’s the rod that goes up through the spindle housing and attaches to the mower blade and the pulley. I also need at least the two outside pulleys. Didn’t realize they where so worn out and thin. The middle pulley is fine enough. The top photo it the one I destroyed. I didn’t take a photo of the pulley that goes on top. Sorry
