What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

Trina, her mom and and I spent the day being basically productive around the yard.

They moved a heckovalotta firewood from the woodshed to the basement.

This space was empty of firewood...

We reorganized the "parts department" again.

Started by taking out a little tree that was in the way of the tarp. Trina's first time ever using a chain saw. (Small electric one).

Moved her mom's future tractor (C100) and Trina's next project (856 from @Herder) close to the pallet area...

Recovered the area.

Moved the 1267 mongrel and Charger 12 into the workshop. The 1267 will be dismantled for parts. The Charger of course is my hydro experiment tractor project.

We've had a pile of stone in the side parking area for like 2 years. Dwindling as we used it wherever we needed to.

Today we finished flattening/distributing the last of that 14 yard truckload.

I sledgehammered out a few rocks from the path around the horse stable and moved 3,  10 cubic foot loads of that stone there.

I know the pic is a bit dark but it was dark when we stopped.......

IMG_20191229_170428766.jpg.3b0e7abdfabf2f06f7a07ed07b53f3a2.jpg

While using the Cinnamon Horse dozer plow I discovered that the modification I made to the lift mechanism was moving. Removed it. Flipped it. Drilled a new hole. Installed it. Fixed... For now...

I'll need to make up a thicker one soon.

At the end of the day we got Trina's 867 ready for the impending 8 to 12 inches of snow over the next couple of days.

Hahahah your right the second pic should be on the calender but specifically the holloweeny month hehehehh..... Its sure lookin good thopugh.....I sure would luv to get me hands on one of those electric clutches though dag nabber!

i had not realized how expensive  electric PTOs had become....but why would you want one??? The only  reason i am running one now on any tractor is the engine KT17 came out of a JD and doesn't have thrust bearings.  if i put one on the ugly elecrtro it is just for show.or for maybe mower deck use.

We agree with that....

Both of us absolutely LOVE spending time outdoors. Fresh fallen snow is lovely to go for a forest walk in. Beautiful. So quiet. Peaceful.

I love the fact that we have 4 full complete total seasons here.

It gives you an appreciation of ALL of the seasons.

Snow totals here on the mountain side will surpass 5 or 6 ft most years. That does get a little overbearing by the end of March......

I hear ya, Ive even heard some dont like how they instantly grab stressing parts....Im just tired of the clutch bar pocking me in the ear, the eye, cutting my forehead, besides it will make it so much easier when I add the cab.....no through cab protrusions to engineer....and yes I am getting older so power this power that hahahahaha.

We got about 11" here with the same intermixing of sleet that @JCM mentioned in the previous post.

Trina ran the snowblower around a little to break through. Then we got the horses out and set to work.

Each of us got stuck once. No big deal. Just a bit of a tug or a shovel.

Driveway is clear and ready for the next round.

We’ll all be singing Melekelikimaka soon!  It’s Hawaii’s way... to say Merry Christmas to you!

by the way, that’s my favorite Christmas song, I think.

Basically green here as well.

We got ice rain on Sunday night into Monday but that is now melted.

Light dusting of snow last night and that is all.

Driveway and roads are bare, maybe 1" total in the yard from all the storms this year combined till now.

Not using much fuel to heat either as temps have been hovering right around the freezing point.

Up date on the 520-H hood paint. Got it outside for a trip over to the farm. Decided the paint is just a little to orange. It's hard to tell in the picture but  I will sand it with 400 and paint the red again when I get some more paint.

@WHX24    Candy Apple Red and a lobster feed, now that sounds like a good time. Curious where you buy fresh Lobsta in Wisconsin. Had to put in the correct pronunciation but wrong spelling that way if you ever come to New England you will fit right in. Good luck with the project.

I was going to defer that answer to Norm @Stormin Richard! :)

You don't Jim … you buy the frozen supermarket kind and pay thru the nose. But it's only once a year! I used to live in CT so I remember  trips to Mystic for fresh seafood! Once on the submarine we pulled into Nova Scotia and loaded a couple of crates of live ones on. Had lobsta races on the mess decks... then ate them! :D

Thanks Kev ...Dan says the paint cost is going to be an ouch in the wallet but worth it.  Nice thing is Tom had already gone through the motor and runs great so won't have to touch that save for a little cleaning.  Debating on whether to paint the AL one piece tank or polish it.

Anybody remember who the member is with the polished tank? Would like to show her what it looks like.

Will do a little reassembly thread.
