CCW 1,295 #3426 Posted October 30, 2019 Added front weight to my 312-8 using discarded concrete post used in home building. These were the sections cut off at a construction and they were going to be trashed. Lashed to an extra mule drive and add approximately 65 pounds to the front end. Helps to reduce the wheelie issue. 4
pfrederi 17,741 #3427 Posted October 31, 2019 Getting the K341 small base mounted on an Electro12 frame. Had to drill some new holes in the frame. Needed spacers found out the spacers used on K181 shaker mounts plus 3 SAE washers exactly matches the rise of a shaker mount. 7

adsm08 2,064 #3433 Posted November 1, 2019 I left them go swimming today. Actually I came home to find a river running through the garage. The man door sits in a low spot and water was pooled around it and running in at the corners, right out the garage door and into the lake in the driveway. Unfortunately that means the outlet for my sump pump is currently under water, which I just realized.... 1

Achto 27,588 #3438 Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) Got one step closer to having a tractor ready for snow plowing. Finished making the parts that I was missing for the pivot arm to work, and sand blasted the plow blade. Then gave every thing 2 coats of self etching primer & 3 coats of paint. Not a show quality paint job, but it should be good enough to keep snow from sticking to the blade. Now that this is done, I'll soon be ready to hang it on the tractor. Then "Bring on some snow!!" PeacemakerJack 10,738 #3439 Posted November 4, 2019 (edited) Got the big wheels out today to clean up the rest of the nasty apples off the trees. Caleb and Judge has fun shaking the trees and making “baskets” with the old apples into the trailer. About the time we were finishing, Achto stopped by and so I asked him if he wanted to drive Rusty up to the shed... Of course he took me up on it! We both agreed that it could use a new seat and some fresh “linen” paint on the wheels. I need to get Terry’s decals on it too...Fun afternoon Claudia picked through a couple of the “good” apples that Caleb found and made a scrumptious apple pie! We just finished eating some of that—yum! Edited November 4, 2019 by PeacemakerJack 4 3

Razorback 1,035 #3444 Posted November 5, 2019 Was getting the Wheel Horse C160 out to clean and remove the tiller. One-year-old Duralast gold battery from AutoZone was toast. It was kept on a tender all last winter, GT was used earlier this year to till the garden. Battery would not take a charge. Looked up the warranty on the battery.... 3 MONTHS!!!!! I guess they know they sell a piece o’crap. Never again!!! Grabbed the fairly new one out of the Cub Cadet 123 (that needs a new right front axle) and it fired right up. I cleaned up the tiller and got it stored away, got the front blade out and more accessible, but ran out of light before I could get it mounted on the C160, in anticipation for snow this winter. Meanwhile, also removed the bagger from the Craftsman PGT9000 and put it away. I am hoping to get the Speedex 1631 out soon and plough the garden..... hopefully that will help with the weeds next year. Off to local Battery Outfitters shop for a new battery tomorrow..... hopefully will have better than a stinkin’ 3-month warranty on their GT batteries.

(I still think Duralast batteries are less than good... we’ll see.... the only reason I got that battery was because my local O’Reilly shop was out of the battery I needed. All of my other batteries come from Battery Outfitters.... I think I’ll check out their GT batteries.)
McGrew 460 #3447 Posted November 5, 2019 About a month ago, I was using my Raider 10 for yard work. It required lots of shutting the engine off and restarting. Toward the end of the day, the tractor would barely start, and I had to jump it to put it away. I found the original regulator (dated 1971) had gone belly up. I replaced the regulator, and all is fine. I decided to add a volt gauge so I could monitor the charging system. Ebay to the rescue! $7.64 later, I have a voltage gauge... I didn’t realize how nasty the steering wheel was... Danny 6 2

I also like the little cotter key that keeps you throttle knob from spinning on the shaft. Great idea!
