I pressed brass bushings into the rollers as they were worn.

After a few mowings they start to squeak a bit so I drilled and tapped a roller shaft for greasing.

I will install this one and see how it works before doing the rest.

Cleat

Cleat you just keep upgrading on me. I went to oilite bushing in the rollers around 1990. I kept busting those plastic roller about two every year and had some turned out of Dogwood. I soaked them in oil for a week before putting them on.  I have had to replace one roller, that one came off and I mowed over it. May have to drill and tap the new set of axles to keep but I'll still be behind mine are not stainless. I did get a friend to weld mine as I'm a blind welder.

I see you have the 3 bar leveller on your deck.

I made one up but have not installed it yet on my deck.

It is supposed to keep it more level with the power bagger attached.

Your roller axle pins may not be stainless but they look great (mine were welded by a welder at my last job).

Apologies in advance for no photo's. You just have to use your imaginations. :D

Went to start the Black Horse yesterday and nothing. Not even a click. I'd had the C-125's solenoid stick a couple of weeks back so up with the bonnet/hood to give the Black Horse's a tap. Didn't need one. The thing was hanging by the wires. The mounting bracket attached to the solenoid had broken. The 90 degree type.

It had broken along the bend, leaving a little tab about 1/4" sticking out. With some carefull drilling and a couple of very small self tapping screws, I was able to fasten the two broken pieces together.

Saved me a few bob.

Today I finished my B140 project and removed my K181S and installed a K321 that @kitkit sold me in December. Had to have decals from Terry and Jims stack.

Now its on to adding hydraulics...

Don't have a power bagger, but it helps keep the deck level with my vacuum. Got the third deck bar idea from you.

Well, I did all 5 and installed them.

They are all greased and ready for the next mowing.

Got both home today.. unfortunately the old girl is in need of some serious transmission help. Any ideas for the best way to approach it? New? Rebuild?

Tractorhead

We had here at my side a company, they weld it up and later mill to original size back on a lathe.

they do this for some kind of shafts til 40mm also if they hardened.

they offer also to hardened again after for longer lasting.

may you find at your side such company or anybody has the ability to do that.

price here is less than a new Shaft and would take at this shaft about 60 - 80 US$

@stevasaurus

Or several others could chime in here.

What's that out of?

There's a few of us that sell used parts and like @Tractorhead says that can be fixed if you have access to a shop.

I had a welder look at it locally, he said he could do the welding. He knows a guy a town away that could machine it down. I'll see what they say too. Apparently the bearings are all pretty much shot too

There are sources for the bearings too as well I believe.

Might be best to make a full list of needed items and contact Lowell at Wheelhorse parts and more.

Just a heads up, that is a hardened surface where the bearing runs.

You may be able to find another parts transmission to cannibalize for parts. I've done that a couple times. A low HP "roller" can be a good buy, cost less than buying the parts on :techie-ebay:.
