ebinmaine 67,654 #2852 Posted August 10, 2019 Today Trina and I (and of course the dog) spent some time in the forest preparing a little firewood. This little guy was watching the festivities.
Pullstart 62,916 #2853 Posted August 11, 2019 Working *cough*playing*cough* with Hot Wheels today... trying to see if I can cut a furrow in the field... directly in front of my tree stand? 4
Pullstart 62,916 #2854 Posted August 11, 2019 I think I have a fuel line leak before the pump, it sounds like it’s sucking air and will only run with the choke... so I’ll limp it back to the barn for repairs. I also lost a pin in the lift link so I figured out I can drag the plow into a turn with minimal diggin... as long as I turned right. Left turn? Harder dig! It also seems I’m not the only visitor in my tree stand! 4

ebinmaine 67,654 #2856 Posted August 11, 2019 We spent some time slicing up firewood this morning and began work on another woods path so as to access the last portion of the property that hasn't had a tractor on it yet. Trina used her go-to work tractor 867 to haul the tools to the forest. Also, she has been painting the house this year as she gets time and the weather is ok. There are clapboards to be added and trim to be replaced. Today she used the 867 as a workbench. 6

Well, it seems I couldn’t find fault in the fuel line on Hot Wheels. It sounded in the tunnel like the line was sucking air badly, the only thing I haven’t done was to pressurize the line. I did however find some gel in the fuel bowl, so I’m doing a system overhaul and clean out. If I secure it out of harm’s way, can you think of any reason not to run the fuel line through the brake shaft tunnel? I was thinking I could hide the fuel pump in there to tidy it up?
19richie66 17,508 #2860 Posted August 13, 2019 Don’t see why not. Plenty of room in the tunnel. Just secure it away from the linkages. That was my plan on the wife’s. 1
ebinmaine 67,654 #2861 Posted August 13, 2019 @pullstart Make sure it can't chafe/rub/touch/grind on anything as well. Even smooth surfaces will eventually eat through the fuel line.

TonyToro 1,058 #2863 Posted August 14, 2019 Worked on the Raider 14 pulling tractors front spindle. My son took the tractor off the trailer to anxiously and the tire grabbed the support rail of the trailer pulling the wheel in the wrong direction. (1050 pound tractor with hot rod engine and gravity can do a number on stock metal pieces. ) I tried to straighten it. I got it close enough to pull last week but it wasn’t truly straight. Luckily I bought a parts tractor a few months ago and used the front spindle from the donor. If anyone knows how to straighten the steering portion of the spindle please advise.

posifour11 723 #2865 Posted August 14, 2019 Nothing huge. Spent a big portion of the day going to town and renting a 36 ft ladder to retrieve a cat.... But, I got to do something I really needed to do without knowing. The cap on the front wheel of my main worker came off and I learned that I didn't have even half of the cotter pin. So, my big thing today was replacing the thing. Big job! 1

WHX?? 48,833 #2869 Posted August 15, 2019 Any auto parts store Fan. Just ask the clerk for a 12vdc low pressure fuel pump. Google the same and you'll find lots of them.

It was mounted under the engine, I just hid it a little bit when I ran new fuel line.

Stormin 9,981 #2873 Posted August 15, 2019 Speaking of fuel lines and chaffing, running the line through a light compression spring where it may chaff helps protect it. 3

Pullstart 62,916 #2875 Posted August 15, 2019 Speaking of fuel lines... I think I routed this in a manner that third and reverse aren’t happy.... I think I need to get the line away from the shifter!
