Ok, ed, i can do that? This problem has been there since i first fired it up. Engine does shake quite a bit and isolators not so hot like i mentionedbefore. It will bolt to the frame and line up properly? Ive never had a wh with a cradle and isolators

You could make a couple spacers like these used to mount a small base block K341 in a Charger 12 frame.

Trying to hook my 7-1211 tiller to my C161 and I don't know how to hook up the lift cable. I'm thinking if I hook it to the top of the bar near where I'm stretching it to it will work shown in the eighth image. However, I would have to drill a hole in the top of the bar to attach the chain. It also will be very close to the gas tank when lifted as shown in the seventh image and I'm concerned whether it will damage the gas tank. Maybe I can cut off a section of the bracket where it comes near the tank? I'm also looking for a replacement idler pulley because the bearing is rusted tight.

The 7-1221 tiller was designed to be lifted with a rod through the slot hitch. I used one for years on my 1976 c-series. One thing I didn't like about it was the idler setup mounted just in front of the transmission requiring you to space the running board out and use two belts. I changed things by using the later idler setup under the engine and just one belt direct to the tiller. The idler in front of the transmission was eliminated. I used a short piece of bar tock in the slot hitch to lift things. In my opinion the final result was an improvement over that style as well as the later style tillers.:)

I think at this point I'm going with the newer style mount. I'm going to need everything except the tiller itself to switch to the newer style. I'm posting a request for the parts needed in the Big Show thread.

Actually yesterday but I swapped the ags on the 418-A to the 418-C(Brian Miller’s), took the 522xi wheels and put them on the 418-A. Put the fatty ratty 24-12x12’s on the 522xi. The ags dig too much in my sandy soil. Shouldn’t get stuck now.

Thats’s what the donkeys are for! Looking the other way showing the yard was too dark for my camera to get a good picture.

Well, put my new battery hold down on the bomb and pulled the drive sheave.waiting on that. If that doesnt fix the belt throwing i may take a match to it. Repaired the sloppy dipstick with "steel on a stick" the maint. Guys at work gave me. We'll see what heat and vibration does. Swapped the isolators around yest. But still throwing belt. Also repacked the pto bearing.

Did you get a kit from I Save Tractors? Was thinking about doing a rebuild on my Commando 8 just to be on the safe side, seeing as my tractor is just over 50 years old.

got them off of :techie-ebay:Usually I only have to replace the brushes and bearings, but the field coils had some of the covering coming off exposing the coils.

Went down to the gravel yard this morning and picked up about a yard of sand for the chicken run. How to get it down back.....

Earlier this morning I mentioned to Trina that I'd like to have a couple areas of the yard scraped down a little bit with "her"  grader.

Of course, any excuse for seat time for her is just as valid as it is for most of us.

Here it sits basking in the sun after she was finished.

Spent a 1/2 hour with a wire wheel on the grinder today. Though it's not perfect, at least not yet...it is getting there.  :greetings-clapyellow:

Well yes, yes I did. The important ones anyway.

A wire got pushed up, and rubbed against one of the voltage regulator mounting bolts, shorted to ground, and burned both wires to the amp meter, and the one to the cig lighter.

I replaced the amp meter wiring, and since I don't smoke and my phone was at about 75% charge I didn't bother with the cig lighter right then, I just pulled the burnt wire up out of the way and finished mowing.

WHX??

S/G looks nice Tom mine are usually full of the black brush crap that is no fun to flush out.. One of these days  when I get less time I intend to do an instructional on rebuilding them.

Don't like sand blasting Craig? I would have taken it allpart and  blasted. Those pits marks are gonna make for some nice character even after fresh red. :handgestures-thumbupright:
