 I think I finally have all of my leaks fixed and my PTO adjusted so I got a load of rock and did some spreading over some muddy patches in the driveway. I’m really surprised how well this thing pushes and lifts when scooping rock from the pile.  What I thought would be nothing more than a toy is actually a pretty good little worker.

We cleared another 250 - 300 feet of path for the tractors.

 

Also...

We felled the largest diameter tree I've ever done today.

Around 21 or 22 inches thick at the trunk base.

We cull off the unhealthy trees. With 11 + acres of land we have plenty of trees to choose from.

The beech trees have a disease that makes them have a cankerous bark.

They die off from the top down.

 

This tree will supply a huge percentage of our heat next year.

 

As luck would have it it laid down right on top of a small red oak. When I cut the oak out of the underside it landed the big beech right on the oak stump.

 

Next we'll tow the splitter in there and section up some of the pieces.

 and video!  That brings back so many memories of splitting wood with my dad and uncles for decades.  I cheat now with a pellet stove but nothing quite like running the saws and splitter and making your own future heat!  Well done!

I bought this Automatic 10 as a parts machine a couple years ago from an estate sale. Once I cleaned it up and got it running I decided it was too nice to part out so I parked it with the intention of repainting it. Well I got it out Saturday and after looking at it again, I realized it looks as good as the tractors I use all the time. I'm thinking maybe I should just clean it up and leave it as it is??

Make it mechanically sound, clean it up to your liking, and use it  like it was meant to be used. Unless you want a show piece,  paint won't make it run better

If I had any doubts I'm convinced. I'll just clean it up and address a couple minor mechanical issues-sloppy throttle shaft, and broken park pawl. I have an original style seat in pretty good condition on another tractor so I'll just swap seats and install the escutcheon plate I bought for it a couple years ago. Thanks for the input!

Got my replacement carb for the k90 on my rj59 put it on and still don't start but I got a new shinny carb . The carter original was so badly corroded I couldn't save it. Got to try for spark next

Cleaned carburetors on a couple of surging Onans, seem to be better. Loader got full synthetic oil change.

Got Hank nestled in for the winter. It’ll be a lot easier to pull out of the garage than it would drive from the back yard.... and now there’s *technically* room in the stable

Have been looking at Work Horses lately....

Getting my  new to me 314 Wheel Horse tractor ready for winter duty.   All new tires on the tractor.

 

Painted up the muffler and motor tin,  putting new  foot rest material ( skateboard tape) and placing my 42 inch snowplow on it .

 

Good running tractor with less than 600 hours.
