You canaries can make all the fun you want about the short comings of a 8 HP but here's the truth. Two loads of screenings all done with said tractor. New horse hide out ready to move in! When I started .... When I was done Don't quite remember being invited for said "excavation" party but something tells me you wouldn't have waited for me to show up anyways . 2 1

pfrederi 17,741 #1286 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) Took advantage of the sun (haven't had much here lately) to clean up my Ugly Electro project. Tear down and clean up revealed as usual good news and bad news. Good news is the engine seems to be in good shape. (PO said it ran when he traded it in) It is a K341AS and it still has STD piston and no real damage to cylinder. Plan is to have this one go to a machine shop for complete work up. Bad news hydro has been replaced as it is a piston to piston not an original hydro gear. However saw some Blue RTV oozing out from the seam between tranny case halves. Why do people use that stuff on hydros, it is a terrible thing to do. Edited October 14, 2018 by pfrederi 6
Tractorhead 9,064 #1287 Posted October 14, 2018 @pfrederi - eieieiei, looks like a lot of work.... but hey, so you are away of the road and couch... 😂 Think it's urgently time to give your WH some caressing Units. Especially the Electric looks nearly "brand new" ... Still be patient what's happen...

CountryRock 199 #1289 Posted October 14, 2018 Got a good amount of work done on the GT2500 today. Started out changing out the points ignition for magnetron. Chipped the flywheel around where the puller bolt threads in, luckily I had the flywheel from the other 2500 to use. I'm still deciding whether I should use the chipped one or not. Engine runs beautiful now. Next up was the shifter boot. All new now. Next, the clutch interlock switch. I got the actuator for that last week along with some switch connectors. Bolted up the actuator, wired the switch and all is good. Also got a new crankcase cover for the other engine. Waiting on a gasket set and plug so I can get that together again.

Or is there another entrance? Thought often 'bout a 60" deck but would need a wider entrance. Oh well, the 48's are fine. I did power wash a deck today, blew it off with the compressor, greased all the zerks. Now this weekend I'll invite the boys over for lunch ().
