Tractor boy 239 #776 Posted June 6, 2018 So I went to the dealer today to look into buying a replacement dust cap for the front axle. He wants 10 bucks per cap. Is that over expensive or is that the cheapskate part in me coming out?

I've never tried it myself but I remember seeing on here somewhere about using piece of PVC pipe cap. Then put a Wheelhorse sticker on the outside of that.

Sarge 3,463 #790 Posted June 8, 2018 We need to hunt down the valve & hydro parts to give that 1276 the hydraulic lift for you - I'll keep my eyes open. Sarge

Sarge 3,463 #792 Posted June 8, 2018 No real reason it can't work for a living and look good at the same time. Modern paints and protective coatings are more durable than most folks would think - I work the 16 Auto hard on a regular basis and it just needs an occasional bath to bring it back to glory. Sarge Oh I understand that, but I have others that do the menial chores! My 857 has yard duty responsibilities. Small yard, the 1276 is actually too big. May start using my 654 once it gets finished.
CountryRock 199 #794 Posted June 9, 2018 Put the new motion lever knob on my 246H. It's an M67 frag grenade, inert of course. Just a little custom touch. 2

rjg854 11,378 #796 Posted June 9, 2018 Got the new fuel pump in the mail yesterday and installed it in the 16 automatic. No more gas or oil leak any more, woo-hoo 5
Lane Ranger 10,968 #797 Posted June 10, 2018 (edited) Got up and did a few things this am before the rain started. Painted my RJ frame (a second rebuild that I am starting this summer) a second time. Changed two oil seals in a three piece transmission I am wanting to put on my 854 before the show (but may not get done with) and painted it. It has a hitch that is very hard to move with a rusty hitch pin ! Painted up an RJ mower deck belt guard that I can use on my RJ. Reglued a brake band . And all of this before the rain started at 7:30 am this morning! Edited June 10, 2018 by Lane Ranger

wallfish 17,011 #799 Posted June 10, 2018 Changing the engine on the bike to a S&G K181 instead of the M8. It's something that's been on the to do list for a long while because it looks more "period correct". I like the curves of it instead of the boxie look of the M8. Having a difficult time fitting a gas tank without having a solid front hood to make a gas tank to replace the mimicked slotted one. Not sure why I need to add the pressure of getting it done before the show but... Somehow scrambling around like crazy with a short deadline just seems natural. Been doing it every year for about 9 years, so here we go again. 1
PeacemakerJack 10,738 #800 Posted June 10, 2018 @wallfish can’t wait to see this thing in person. We will Be first timers at the BS and this bike has become one of the things to expect there...I was an avid “bike” rider before I had kids and will likely slip back into more riding now that my kids are getting older and so I appreciate powered two wheel devices. I also like ingenuity and I see that in your scoot—big times! Good luck getting it together before the BS! 4
