Sam Pasch’s Horses 29 #23102 Posted March 12 next I’m going to paint the wheels. I know they are supposed to be a sort of off white but I’m thinking silver like the later models would look pretty sharp. Also what do you guys think on this seat? It’s not the most eye catching thing but it sure is pretty comfortable. 4

MainelyWheelhorse 858 #23106 Posted March 12 (edited) @Red Stallion I use either Rustoleum or ACE IH Red spray paint implement paint and a nice looking gloss black either ACE or Rustoleum spray paint implement paint as well. I’ve heard on here there is no set specific red. Unless you are going for showroom stock it’s up to your preference. I use IH Red as it’s easy to get, a well known color, that should be close no matter the paint brand. Edited March 12 by MainelyWheelhorse

Lane Ranger 11,085 #23110 Posted Thursday at 09:30 AM Doing the same thing Ed Kennell did getting into the season! Well after three 70 degree days time to remove the snowplow and put my mower deck back on my 1974 Wheel Horse B-80. Still going strong like my 701 and one of my RJ-58’s! 1
squonk 42,144 #23111 Posted Thursday at 09:57 PM Started refurb on another "Fireball 8" This is out of a 65 875 so it's a spark advance style engine. New piston and valves. This will be going into my 857 as a temporary engine whilst that engine gets rebuilt. Then it will be a spare bullet if the need arises. Used the old screw and slide hammer trick to remove the deep PTO seal 5

The painting thread seems to be the question nobody can answer @Red Stallion Two other members besides myself answered you about what red. I stated in that post I used ACE or Rustoleum brands gloss black. It's going to dull over time especially if you don't clear coat it. I don't clear coat as both of mine are used to mow and plow. Since your in Austrailia, as long as the paint can bond to metal any available brand should work. If your going showroom stock I've heard that satin black was the stock black. But there really is no specific black or red to use I use what I have access to. Edited Thursday at 10:37 PM by MainelyWheelhorse
MainelyWheelhorse 858 #23113 Posted Thursday at 10:37 PM More progress today I got the hood finish painted headlights in and mounted and like any old car/equipment it was a bit of a PITA to mount. Now to get the hood stickers again as pulling the old ones off the old hood was a no go.
Red Stallion 100 #23114 Posted Friday at 12:19 AM Thanks. I have been clear coating as I go, so I'll try and track down some Rustoleum gloss black.

It doesn’t need to be Rustoleum. My local hardware store carries it, and the ACE brand for not a ton of money. That’s why I use it. I’ve heard some of the brands here are ridiculously expensive when imported there, so again you can use what you have easy access to. Pullstart 63,985 #23120 Posted Friday at 11:21 AM I got the camper out of storage yesterday, so a few things had to move around in the barn. It was good to stretch the legs of so many toys!
