Looking great.

The maroon decals are my favorite.

@Andy N. Niiiiice work!

That maroon is occasionally seen up here too.

I've had a late 60s Raider done ALL maroon and not the best paint work. 😬

Also had my own C160 Automatic show up to my hands in a more calm maroon.

We believe it was a later model but original Wheelhorse tone.

@JCM Liked that color quite a lot.

I prefer a much brighter red.

I’ve got one in perfect shape along with the case ( also in great shape) that I found in an old hay barn. Who would such a nice lantern in there?

I’m quite happy to have two Colemans (one white gas and one propane) to use for emergency lighting.

Is yours also usable with mantles to get brighter light?

My modified Coleman propane lantern is hanging near my back door and is my go to light when the grid fails.  Then  I use the Coleman to locate and fire up the "coal oil" lamps.

You never know. My first one bought new is a brown lantern.Ugly . It's a 275 and the collectors want at least one "turd" model. I am finding out that the 220 D,E,and F models run well and quiet and can be workhorse lanterns. Original green sunrise globes are rare to survive and the red print originals get stored or displayed.

I started to acquire twenty dollar lanterns just for parts. It was really good one day and I got six of them running.

Love the old Coleman’s!  There’s a thread on here for them.  Worth checking out.  It needs a new post :handgestures-thumbupright:

Sure is. It's just a sign of a good runner when they light up and run blue

Pro tip. Peerless Mantles are brighter and less breakable than Coleman

60" across the bottom. It'll move snow.

Side to side pivot is a workout.

It's easy to see how a second hydraulic circuit would be a benefit.

Good Afternoon All

Finally getting back to the 857. The motor was out early summer for a rebuild to an older gentleman (early 90's) who lives eats and breathes Wheel Horse.  His out building is chocked full of parts most from dealerships who either closed or just got rid of their old inventory.

Anyway, I called and no answer left message. Stopped by his place a few days later, no one home. Starting to get nervous that something happened to him as his wife died over the summer and he just wasn't himself after that. Having been down that road myself, I can relate.

So, plan B. If my motor is gone, I will be looking for a replacement. If memory serves me correctly, it is a K181S. Can the experts out there verify this?

   Thanks for your time

perhaps a wellness check by local police would be in order...? We had a neighbor a few years back spend a couple days on the floor after a fall unbeknownst to anyone... ultimately passed away...
