702854boy 44 #22851 Posted January 22 Yes, we ordered the repair hubs yesterday. And we're thinking they should get here this weekend 2
pfrederi 18,108 #22852 Posted January 23 Put new hubs, wheel and tires on my D200. The old 18 x 8.50 x 8 tires had some cracks and made steering very taxing. The odd ball wheel bearings were going to be a future problem. Hardest part was mounting the tires, 6pr trailer type, they have very stiff sidewalls. Other PIA was seating the dust caps on the new hubs. Once it warms up I have to attack a triaxle load of 2B stone... 2 12

That is sweet, I know what you mean by taxing to steer too!!!

702854boy 44 #22856 Posted January 26 I got the new hubs installed on the 854 and made it look cool for about half an hour.

pfrederi 18,108 #22859 Posted January 26 Should have put trailer hubs and wheels on the D200 years ago...almost like power steering....Hasn't solved traction problem pushing into the pile 3
bassJAM 88 #22860 Posted January 27 I feel like I'm behind the times, but I put LED's on my horse since one of the old lights had burnt out. Testing in my shed with the lights out it seems better, I guess the first early morning snow plow job will tell me how they do. 9
Greg Cullison 76 #22861 Posted January 27 I thought about doing that as well but initially couldn't decide between the benefit of LED's and trying to keep it original.. I ultimately went with the latter but am always wondering if I made the wrong choice...

It'll be a good decision. 2
ML3 1,374 #22863 Posted January 27 I did led lamps on my 654. Definitely an improvement. They are really bright. I wasn't worried about originality as its a working tractor. I considered putting led bulbs under the original lenses on my 953 & my 753 HL5 lights but I don't really use those tractors at night.....
Handy Don 12,995 #22864 Posted January 27 I’m not into preservation as much as utilization so I always include in my thinking “What would Cecil do faced with the same choice?” LED is cheaper, lasts longer and gives better light. 2

I haven't replaced a light in years and they work so much better. Very few "new" things are any good nowadays. LEDs are one of the few new items that are actually better than the original.
OutdoorEnvy 1,688 #22868 Posted January 27 I just put LED's on my 416 and they seem great. I will do them for my 312 next. Much brighter. I didn't get the super bright ones as I didn't want them to be blinding. I got the 9w 3000k. Just want to light up the work area well and let cars see me in the dark if ever needed. 2

JCM 9,900 #22873 Posted January 28 Who say's a 420 -LSE can't lay down a patch. Took her for a trail ride today and when I went to put it away the right rear started spinning so I opened the throttle up and watched it spin. Haven't done that since 1999 when I sold my 70 Chevelle SS big block. Boy did that feel good. Doesn't take much to amuse myself as I get older. Can anyone relate ? 1 1
