Every once in a while we get a bit of enhancement from Sebago Lake but not on any regular basis like @1940willys Our is more like "Mountain Effects" where the storms will actually stall against the hills and just DUMP snow or rain in some areas.

The sad part is, the emissions test is only required for several counties along the border near Pittsburg, Philadelphia, Baltimore Md., Wilmington, Delaware and Trenton, NJ. I happen to be in one of these Counties 40 mile from Baltimore. I lived my first 37 years in Nebraska. Great beef if you eat that. Nice zoo, Same obese humans as everywhere. not worth a visit. NO inspection there except commercial vehicles. They are pretty particular about the dually dump truck etc etc. Over this weight big deal...Under this weight vehicle just regulatory. nonsense! I am seemingly the only person who resided there that cared about preventative maintenance. The mind can race about the things that can be on the highway. Been a first responder. Pay attention please! I moved to NC in 2013. Personal vehicle inspection seemed odd and like many things it can be exploited. I cannot be exploited. Many other wonderful folks can be. My point.. IDK where it gets cold and salty probably (question mark) a good idea to have another set of eyes on the rotten junk rolling around at speed on the roads??? AND pay attention. We all have to all the days we are here! Many are not

I used my GT-1848 to plow the driveway, which is about 150-200 feet with a loop at the end. Started out with just Ag rears with weights, but was slipping too much so I pulled into the garage and put the chains on - much better. No pictures today, maybe I'll take a few tomorrow. I'm concerned about my hydro though. It was around 20-25* and it took at least 15-20 minutes to warm up enough to lift the plow and move forward/backward consistently. Oil level is fine, but I've never changed it and it's probably very old. I do have a spare Eaton 1100, which I'm not too worried about swapping if I need to. What is the normal warmup time for these? Took a couple of pictures - tractor resting in garage, no more snow since plowing. Next time I'm out I plan to buy some 10w-30 synthetic and do a complete oil change in the trans. If that doesn't help, I guess I'll swap the trans. Maybe after it gets a bit warmer, going down into single digits this week. 5

Change the oil and filter and see what happens. I saw a post on here years ago where a member put 0W-30 in his transmission for winter use. Not sure if that's a good idea or not, others can chime in. I use Mobile 1 10W-30 in all my hydros.

Service stations and oil change places will typically NOT take this stuff because the re-refiners that recycle their used oil will refuse it.
OutdoorEnvy 1,618 #22690 Posted Wednesday at 06:55 PM @ebinmaine @Handy Don are you guys saying you use straight diesel and drive it? If so, how long do you drive it that way? I wouldn't have thought to use anything without some kind of oil mixed in. I can see it flushing out and draining nice though
Handy Don 12,614 #22691 Posted Wednesday at 07:09 PM 10 minutes ago, OutdoorEnvy said: straight diesel and drive it Yes, but only for maybe 5 minutes and with no load. Time to go into every gear and make some tight circles in each directions (to exercise the differential). BTW, I would NOT do this on a 6-speed LSD transaxle, since there are metal-on-metal friction parts in there that don’t deserve the extra wear.
Racinbob 11,289 #22692 Posted Wednesday at 07:21 PM That's what most guys use. I despise the smell of diesel fuel so I use Motor Metic Motor Flush. Since it was on the bench I spun it with a drill, let it sit overnight, spun again and drained. There was no water in this transmission and the oil was deep black. It came out pretty clean. 3

Colby G 238 #22695 Posted 7 hours ago One of my auto tech instructors just gave me a 1984 workhorse gt 1800, which also has a deck. Can anyone tell me how rare this is and how much they would be worth? Or any other info? I know they came with a v twin 18 horse, which the other auto tech instructor has an original engine with very few hours for the tractor, it seems to be in good condition, just needs the engine put on and a battery.

As for pictures, use whatever app you have that will convert the images into 5x7 inch, 72dpi JPEG before uploading. These were not rare tractors. It was the “budge” brand for WH but they were not sold for as many years as the “red” WH tractors so overall there are fewer.

I could e sworn it said something a long the lines of v twin on the column, it has no engine in it currently. It's just what I thought I saw on the column.
