Working on the 312-8 sheet metal at a slower pace. Hope to have it ready to paint if I find any weather warm enough. I go down to the basement and work on it for an hour or two. sanded all the rust off couple of weeks ago, trying to smooth up the top side a little. It's never going to be a show piece, but it's a good solid mechanical tractor.

Sandblasted and painted wheel weights for the 315-8 a few weeks ago. Installed them today😁

They look great. I’d need shin guards ‘cause being distracted  I’d surely bang into the bolts

Took the C175 for a few laps around the driveway. Still haven’t put the weights, chains or blade on. Hoping it will entice a little snow at some point.

@Sparky I had that happen at the end of my driveway with my 308-8 after plowing a bit a few days ago, apparently I misjudged the amount of gas in it. Good thing my driveway is only 50 feet long or so.

Looks to be mint compared to what we had to work with on Anthony’s restoration tractor. Slow and stead is my motto.👍

Yesterday I welded up a couple plate weight holders, primed them, and put the final coat of paint on them this morning.  The welds aren't pretty, I haven't touched a welder in 20 years and even then it was only for a few hours after a few minutes of instruction, but they held up to several whacks with a hammer!  Now I'm just waiting for snow...

@bassJAM I see the rod that pushes and pulls to angle your plow is connected to the top of the swing quadrant. It should be connected to the bottom of it, there is a hole directly underneath where it’s connected now. It’s a bit of a pain in the neck to get the cotter pin in the hole in the rod once it’s in the proper place. But it will swing much easier than the way it is now if you change it.

Thanks I swapped it around today.  It didn't seem to make much of a difference in how easily it swings but that certainly looks like the way it's suppose to fit!

I'll tell ya what helps a fair amount is changing to a solid connection with heim joints on each end.

Tightens the whole system up.

Honestly I think it turns side to side pretty smoothly already.  Heim joints would probably be a lot easier to install though, I busted up my knuckles pretty good today trying to pull out the old cotter pin before I finally cut it out.  Shouldn't need to mess with it again though.

I put Heims on the dozer I just refurbished. Partly because it came without the rod and lever, partly for the solid and easy operation, and partly because the hole at the quadrant had been wallowed out terribly (this plow has been worked HARD).

WHX??

Would love to stay up and ring in the new year but the balls here have dropped long ago. 'Sides up early to tie into a resto on this '56 RJ.

The time has come Tom @Shynon.
