There is maybe 1/2” and he ran outside to try out his plow. @TonyToro Jr.

@TonyToro I did the same thing once I got the chains and plow on the 308. There was just barely enough snow to plow. @ebinmaine I’ll share the blame too…😁

Pullstart

It’s been a while since I did any Horse wrenching.  Looking around at my mess of a storage barn, and the fact that I need to store Norman and the toy hauler inside for the winter, I decided to thin a little more herd.

I pulled this project out and made it more stock than project form, and sold it out quick.

Shift knob restore.:laughing-rolling:

Still Waiting on more odds and ends for my C121 resto.
In the meantime I noticed the shift knobs were wrecked no matter how much I scrubbed wire brush chemicals etc they still wouldn’t get clean.

I’m too cheap to buy new.

Used med grit sandpaper finished with 2500 .

Now they are almost like new just need decals .

I have too much time on my hands I guess or maybe just need help:confusion-helpsos: :scratchead:

you are going to love plowing with that tractor if you haven’t. That’s @WheelHorse_Kid’s tractor of choice for winter duty’s. It never misses a beat.

Trina's 867 Pigpen had a belt go bad after 5 years so I ordered and she installed a new one.

Snow today so she plowed.

Better.. but still not quite there.

We figure the spring is worn.

I ordered some clutch/brake pedal springs from McMaster Carr.

https://www.mcmaster.com/#3114T112

Extension Springs with Hook Ends

Black-Oxide Music-Wire Steel, 4.5" Long, 0.625" OD

These are just a touch stronger than the stainless steel ones I've found recommended.

Trina has five tractors that use these springs so I got a couple packs of 3 on order.

EB It might not be the spring.  I'm having trouble with my 316 with the belt slipping when I let the clutch out. It has a new belt and spring, The problem is clutch or the hole in the frame is worn  had the same with my

C-120 but added brass bushings in the frame. Haven't been able to get the roll pin out of the 316 to fix it, as it sat out side for some time before I got it.

So, I had an oppornumity to do a little Wheel Horse Stuff the past couple days. I took the Snowblade off of 1 of my 2 Blade setups because some "genious",  in their Ifinite wisdom Or Actual Lack there of, decided to just keep on keepin' on with the blade. They Kept on Keepin' on to the point of nearly rendering this part useless :ranting:  ... (see pics) Some peeps can't be told nothin' :angry-banghead: This is an Example of not only Beating a Dead :deadhorse: Horse but alo drggaing the parts around... :ranting: ... Fortunately, We have a household waste disposal site here & they have a "Re-Store" which you can take chemicals for your use & it includes paint & spray paint. Unfortunately, the can of red that i had was nearly empty & Not spraying very well. So I coated the Parts that will see the most abuse & rust. This is a Temporary paint job as Next year I will Blast this down all the wa to the metal & do the POR 15 treatment.... things are rough & tight right now so going with what I have on hand. This Blade has a Good Scraper with it & as soon as I finish painting It will be going back together .

The ’63 blade I’ve just set up must’ve had a similar tough life.  A PO welded a new 4” wide strip of metal to restore the lower edge of the blade itself and then drilled and mounted the wear edge to it with the usual bolts. Did an OK job and added some years to this very tired plow’s life.

I can see for sale signs on those stick shift tractors after you get spoiled with the auto.

No chance.

I DESPISE Automatics for woods work.  They're terrible on our rough terrain.

Snow removal  - EXCELLENT.

Mowing the back...?   Maybe.

Most anything else around here is a manual transmission chore.
