Shift knob restore.:laughing-rolling:

Still Waiting on more odds and ends for my C121 resto.
In the meantime I noticed the shift knobs were wrecked no matter how much I scrubbed wire brush chemicals etc they still wouldn’t get clean.

I’m too cheap to buy new.

Used med grit sandpaper finished with 2500 .

Now they are almost like new just need decals .

I have too much time on my hands I guess or maybe just need help:confusion-helpsos: :scratchead:

Shiny new balls !!

I did the same thing on my 520-8 project.

I used a piece of rod clamped into my drill press then screwed the knobs onto that and basically did the same thing you did.

Knobs turned out great and since my tractors never sit outside they should stay looking good.

Is there a way to reseal the lift cylinder? I do not see a way to take it apart or is it cheaper to find a newer piston??

Some cylinders are welded, and they can be rebuilt but it’s not easy.

On my Bronco, I just bought one of the newer cylinders (like most all the classic series used) that can be disassembled and rebuilt. It’s very easy to do.

Lowell rebuilds the welded cylinders.

Also, @daveoman1966 has instructions somewhere on here to ADD a seal to the end.

Didn't know that could be done.

Noted for future use.

Lowell @wheelhorseman can fix you up with the parts you need and if it is a welded cylinder he will recondition it for you.  https://wheelhorsepartsandmore.com/product-category/hydraulics/

Shockingly this year we didn’t have any issues with chains. Usually I fight for them for a while.

Wheelhorse_kid drove across the lawn and hit some the night we went to do his chains. That put the kibosh to that til he got them washed out. I pick them up but he always seems to find a pile I missed.

Try not to spin your wheels, then they won’t 😂

The town is behind on leaf pickup so I'm working closer and closer to traffic. I decided to add a wig-wag flasher. Now to decide if I want to do something on the back.

Could you dump on the grass and push the pile out with a snow blade?  The current crop of drivers won't move over an inch.

I put the snow blade on the other day to push them off of my grass. There is a lot of truck traffic that continuously blows them back into my yard.

The town usually makes a pass through once or twice a week. I have no idea what their issues are this year. Been about 4 weeks.

Next time I put my blade on, the stack is getting moved to the center lane! :angry-steamingears:

Last year our village’s vacuum/shredder trailer broke and the parts for repair took a month to arrive. Leaves piled so high it was affecting nightlines. Eventually they crushed and scooped some of the worst piles with a front loader.

@Monstrosity, love your display.:handgestures-thumbupright:

Last year my wife asked me to light up a tractor for the Christmas season, of course she ask me this like 4 days before Christmas.

This year I took the initiative to get an early start on her request. Took the better part of the day to get it done, but I'm happy with it. Gave me the itch to add more next year.
