That is 1 Fine lookin Machine there & that Amber Rotator !... take a picture of that in the dark so we can All enjoy it eh.....? or perhaps, post a short video of it in low light condtions. I'm betting that looks Sharp at night with the Rotator.... Very Cool ... I Like it. squonk 41,048 #22254 Posted November 5 (edited) Traded my chipper shredder and a Franklin for this 875. It spent a good part of it's life at a camp hauling firewood. It was given to my friend Bruce about a year and a half ago. it had been switched to a solenoid start circuit and didn't have the PTO parts or the lift parts. Well I had the rockshaft and gave it to him. Bruce installed it and found out why it was missing. When you raise the lift the rockshaft shorts out the solenoid! Engine smokes a tad too. 6 year old Autopart battery still has 230 CCA in it and Bruce says he never put a charger on it ! It's got your standard "Farm Implement Red" blown on paint job but it's somewhat presentable Already swapped out the back wheels and installed studs. Got to rewire it, toss the sediment bowl run new shutoff and gas lines, new trans filter and belt and install a re-ringed Fireball 8. I have all of the PTO parts and going to have to get a dial a height unit and a trans fan screen. Going to make it an "Old School " mowing machine. Want to change the fuel filter but need to order it. Gonna replace the headlights and spark plug tomorrow and wax it. Too chicken to replace the transmission fluid or the drive belt...picture before the wash. Gonna wax tomorrow and take another one. 1990 312-8. GAJoe 842 #22267 Posted November 9 Cut the grass for the final time this year to get the engine warmed up. Had to adjust clutch because it started a bit of grinding instead of shifting. Five threads would keep the clutch safety sw from closing. Backed it off three to only two thread change and worked great again. Made carb adjustments with my new timing light w/tach function. My brother bought the original owners house a few years ago which the tractor went with it. The original owner still had the paperwork from when he bought the 312 new in June of 1992. ebinmaine 67,380 #22269 Posted November 10 Spent a couple hours deliberating and experimenting on the hitch pin for @Maz91 's 1971 8 speed. It would move... just a hair... either way. I set the penetrating oil to it and got out some tools. I've read multiple times about drilling out the center and driving the punch through to the opposite side. I used a hand file to remove the bunched up end of the pin from some previous owner attempts at movement. Set a center punch hole and commenced to drilling. I tried a few different bits and a few different holding techniques. Eventually I won. There was a Cool fella near Indianola with some Chrome Red Head Stamped Hub Caps! We negotiated a decent price on the 7 of them. Yes, 7 I know I will need another 1 & I don't mind that... I am super happy to have these & Cyclops needs a bit o' bling anywho... I have Not seen a set of even 4 of these going for less than $250-$375..... I was Quite pleased with the deal. I also Scored a couple more Rimz n old tires (gonna replace the tires) I can just swap tires with chains for the nice turf tires I will soon have on my new to Moo-Wah C-145 Cyclops. The scAmazombie delivery dude showed up just as we were leaving to take Dad to church before I left town this Morning. Fuel Pumps arrived & I have a Question. What is that Snap ring for? (see picture as I have drawn a blue circle around it) I did Not need to remove 1 when I took the Broken fuel pump off.... So what is that for? Is it an internal part for the pump when ya rebuild it? Or does it apply to some other model Kohlers? What ? I am really stumped on that so if someone can answer the question, I would certainly appreciate that. A-Z Tractor is sending an entire new ignition kit as well so I thiMk Ol' Cyclops has a chance at being fully operational within days. D og inspected the new to Moo-Wah hub caps & approved but was certainly more interested in playing ball than Wheel Horse stuff ( see picture ) So, today was a pretty good day. Got to see my cousin & have some laughs. Scored some good stuff for the "Herd" at great prices even when i figure in the tank of fuel to do it. Did about 90 the whole way out & still got 14-15 mpg with my big ol' Chevy. That Chevy picture is NOT my Truck but I was impressed with it. the guy who sold me the rimz n tirez said that is the first vehicle he ever owned. Makes me wish I never sold My C-10 & several others.... Update; Today I received my Ignition parts & tomorrow is My day off so it's gonna be Wheel Horse day All day & here is another pic. Sodaking27 777 #22275 Posted November 11 Rebuilt the hydraulic lift valve for the second time today. Still have a small leak . At least it’s not as bad as the last attempt. May be time to see if someone has one to sale. Installed new LED head and tail lights. Going to give it a good workout with the leaf sweeper to ensure everything is okay before mounting the snow blade, weights and chains. 4 4 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
