Wheelhorse#1 1,657 #22003 Posted September 9 This morning I finished removing a few more tins and gas tank to clean and replace bushing. Wile I’m on it I mind as well take care of the axle seals,remove the hubs.I don’t really have a good tool for that yet. Removing hubs is probably my least favorite job,I have a extra one in case I break one. The left side I think maybe was exposed to weather more as the tire was a real pia just to remove the lugs. All in all though this tractor is in pretty good shape for sitting in a corn field for many yrs. Goldnboy 910 #22004 Posted September 10 (edited) Frozen slot hitch ...now after weeks of being shot with WD 40, Liquid wrench, and PB blaster( all now empty) I drilled two holes into the slot hitch and sprayed with more PB blaster it broke free!.. I have taped the holes and added grease zerks and a new lift cable and I can use the hitch! The pin doesn't move sideways...but doesn't matter size the slot hitch moves and will not be using a tiller anytime soon. Racinbob 11,063 #22005 Posted September 11 I did a few final tweaks on the B-80 Reborn. I had to replace the fuel filter due to a little leak. Then it was time for it's maiden voyage. I have no clue why but it took just shy of 7 hours to download this. It never occurred to me that I could have added a little chit-chat but I think I was just enjoying how well the K-181 sounded. I think it's pretty cool. 48 years ago I loaded this brand new B-80 up at Chandler Sales. A 720p (720x1280) at 30 fps video with sound will average about 1-2 Gb per hour after compression. So final storage for this one is likely ~100-200mb. It must have used a bunch of something. Our internet service is surprisingly good but it was toast as this thing downloaded. Next up is priming and coating that metal roof with black silicone (not great for heat dissipation, but going for the resale value curb appeal...). Garage is already done and it looks great. Went all brass with a Fumoto valve and 5" nipple ( 6" put me out too far ) street elbow screwed in without any issues. Racinbob 11,063 #22015 Posted September 15 I love the oil drain valves and have been using them for years on everything. I tend to keep them a bit shorter so they don't hang over the frame as far. Only found one vehicle where they would be a bad idea. The drain on my wifes car is centered on the bottom of the drain pan. 8ntruck 6,998 #22022 Posted September 20 We've got a bunch of family visiting this weekend. The oak trees have been busy dropping a variety of debris on the lawns to the extent they need sweeping. I used Morgan , the 14-8 to mow what little grass that has grown in the last month or so - a 12' wide strip of grass along the lakefront. Next I got Clyde the C-195 out to pull the sweeper around d both lawns, since it has been a while since he has had any run time. The pre run oil check showed that I needed to add a bit of oil, so I did. Ran him 1/2 hour, maybe 45 minutes. I checked the oil after I parked him - was at the add level on the dip stick! Yes, he burns some oil - light smoke when the governor kicks in - but not enough to lower the oil level that much in that short a time. Gotta be a seal somewhere that has failed. Looks like I've got to put him on the disabled list until I can case this down. One disappointment, our youngest son called and said he has to cancel. Seems he's come down with a case of covid. It's a decent setup for a trailer but I won't be leaving it for permanent use with this crane. Because Cinnamon Horse has tall front tires for the chipper it obviously puts a backward tilt on the crane.
