Do you do your own tire changes? I use a local guy that charges me $30 to mount a tire. I thought that was a little high so I stopped in at two more places, both charged the same thing.

I’m pretty lucky.I have a place local that will dismount and remount all 4 for 25.00.

I pay $30 for 4 or $10 for 1.

Finally got the free to me 14-8 out of the garage under its own power. She’s rough looking but solid. I completely rewired it (if you know me you know I absolutely hate electrical so this was a major step for me) installed a good starter I had since it was missing it’s own, new starter solenoid, cleaned the carb and points and got it running.

Niiiiice

. Now to try my luck at welding. Those skills are worse than my electrical skills

Absolute extreme patience is key with learning to weld properly. It's extremely important to remember with welding as with painting, the job is 95% preparation. Almost none of it is actual welding.

Boy that 14hp drinks gas. Couldn’t do the full 2 1/2 acres on one tank where my sons 12hp and my 18hp vanguards still have a 1/4 tank left.

Yeah man that big Kohler engine single lung just sucks up the petrol doesn't it? My 16s sure do.

thinking of trying my hand at wet sanding and seeing what’s left of color if anything.

We've been processing thoughts on doing the same thing here.

Found my spare plow angle lever (we all have a spare angle lever right??) . Installed it on the new 42” plow I was given that was missing the lever. Some acoustic ceiling tie wire was perfect to use from the squeeze handle to the triangle thingy :handgestures-thumbupright:, works perfectly now!

Thre wire from campaign signs,  left abandoned after election season, works for this as well.

I don't  have a spare angle lever.  What I needed recently was a spare pin to connect the lift link to the lift arm on the tractor.

This is a short pin, not commonly found in the parts drawers in the hardware stores.  Got a replacement pin and a spare - just have to chop them to proper length and drill the hairpin hole.

Pulled the carb for the zillionth time (ok twice today and maybe two other times:blink:) . Also cut in an in-line fuel filter. Cleaned, reassembled and seems to be running great now. Hopefully it stays that way!

I blame a lot of it on what fuel we have now a days....... Todays fuels are hard on fuel lines also, hard to keep all the drugs out of them carbs. :bitch:

I'd say it's close to 99% the fault of ethanol.

We're at a point where replacing or cleaning the entire fuel system is a necessity of maintenance.

Well this is a first for me. Went to move the 414 that yesterday I got running perfect, and find this!
And yes I’m flipping it off :angry-banghead: !
Half of one of the female slots is MIA

And like the rest of you I save everything. So I have one but it’s part of an unmolested wiring harness off a 312 Magnum powered tractor. Really don’t wanna “chop it up”

Painting the 953 wheels I got from @19richie66. 3 coats of Rust-Oleum Almond and 2 coats of Rust-Oleum Chrystal Clear.

Got the Brinley hitch I bought at the big show on the 953. This weekend there's a large antique engine & tractor show near me. Plan to go tomorrow. Just deciding what tractor to take????? My car can only really tow 1 tractor. Mostly I'm going there cause I'm looking for a hit/miss engine.

I've had a couple fuses over the years that were good to look at but tested bad. I don't recall ever having one split in half like that though.
