Whether it's a trailer, truck, garage, basement, shed, or any other ramp....

 

Not trying to be negative.  

 

Use this an understanding of a learning moment that you don't want to duplicate.  

 

If you NEED to go fast, something isn't right.  

 

Get sand. 

Get help. 

Get slats on the ramp. 

Get tire chains. 

Wait until later. 

 

 

Change the situation to your favor.

Check with your local Town Office. 

Some places have a public access to free sand or sand /salt mix.  

 

We've been known to woodstove ashes too.

I spent some time finishing up this carb rebuild.  

 

 

 

 

 

Whilst I was doing that the BBT person started moving firewood from our under the barn overhang to the small woodshed she just recently built on the side deck.  

 

She moved 5 or 6 loads with me helping some between the carb cleaning.  

 

That little woodshed is now just about half full.

Think it was time to Service up my Horse a little bit.

After the last time where she was unable to push the extreme Snowmass we had,

i give her a Break. Maybe she wan‘t move without her Protection - ok my fault...

 

but before next Snowaction i decided to changed the Oil and fill up Fuel i redo the Oilprotection all over the Sheetmetal.

 

I use Ballistol, what is normally a Gun Oil.

It does a good job in the past, so i give her again a gently skin of this oil to protect her

(except all Steps and pedals because otherwise they gonna be extreme slippery)

Ballistol can also be used to protect leather and Metal. It prevents Water and moisture damages.

Check tyrepressure and greas all zerk fittings.

 

 

 

Now we are Ready for the next Snow Task.

Nice rebuilds.  I see you've switched to using the Briggs steel float bowls.  Excellent choice.

This particular carb had that bowl when I got it. 

I've started keeping the Briggs pieces in my Parts Department.  

I believe that may have been your own influence.

So it was a nice day, I decided to fire up the 856 and take it for a spin. It started right up. I put it in gear and headed out down the driveway towards the street. I got to the gap between my truck and the house and tried to steer a little left and found myself going right and clipping my garbage tote. Hit the clutch/brake and turned key off. Hey one front tire going left the other going right ! Wonderful. All I want for Christmas is a right hand ball joint / tie rod !

Tale of two hubs,  The C-160 I am working on spent a lot of time outside and everything is resisting disassembly.  Got one hub of after a good fight only to find it had been broken and welded.  The other hub had oil on the axle from a leaky seal so I had hoped it would come off several days of Kroil and today heat ...have never broken one before with this puller...

 

Steering wheel isn't cooperating neither is the roll pin in the clutch cross shaft...  Hate to think about the hitch pin

I understand that all too well. 

The first C160 I got was like that. 

Luckily I tripped over a much nicer chassis not long after we began disassembly. 

That's why Cinnamon Horse 1974 C160-8 is two Horses combined.

I picked up a Dremel drill press and did a little experimenting with drilling out the brass screws from a choke shaft. With practice this could be used.
