D_Mac 8,610 #20028 Posted October 2, 2023 @LandoCommando214I unprofessionly redid one a few years ago. Best thing I did to it was removing the shaker mounts for solid mounts. Wondering if you did the same. Before and after of mine. You did a great job. 1 7
rjg854 11,361 #20029 Posted October 2, 2023 Swap a set of rear wheel weights that I had for a set that @Sparky had and painted them today. Getting them ready for the tractor and winter. 7
BrianKoch 307 #20030 Posted October 2, 2023 Gentlemen, I have been busy plowing earth before installing a hedgerow. This was my first time using a ground engaging implement (and plowing) and I was amazed by what the tractor, a 68 Charger 12, could do! 2 15

Did you have to bring out the middle of the piston? I'm thinking of doing the same after seeing this!

Vibrated so much it did damage to the air filter housing. Tore the metal away from where the back plate screws into the carb. After putting the new mounts in it was a new machine.

I ground out the inside with a de-burring tool. Makes quick work of the aluminum, easy peasy!

I saw Zack Kerber has them.

Yep best thing you will ever do to a shaker plate motor Tony. Well worth what Kerber asks for them.

Got the front finished last week. The one bush in back was trying to cover my H&AC unit. Trimmed off two loads and decided that it had to go. This is a pictures of the bush and load number 4 of the bush. It's going but it's put up a fight, that bush is resting peaceable on it's own limbs down at the brush pile. To stop some of the vibration, and it most likely worked good for most about 20 years. They are 40 years old now time to fix them.

c-series don 8,689 #20046 Posted October 4, 2023 (edited) When I restored my C-121 I replaced the engine mounts with the correct rubber ones and I must say they are nice. However I remember them being very expensive and I don’t think anyone was making solid mounts at the time. I probably would go with the solid mounts next time (if there is a next time!) I’m not even sure if the rubber mounts are still available? Edited October 4, 2023 by c-series don 2 6
LandoCommando214 82 #20047 Posted October 4, 2023 @c-series don THAT restoration looks incredible. Did you do a clear coat over the paint also? I just sprayed with a reducer and 2k hardener, and i'm not sure if I can polish it like you could with clear applied.

c-series don 8,689 #20049 Posted October 5, 2023 Yes, three coats of two part epoxy primer sanded between each coat, three coats of PPG red (I have the color code somewhere) and three coats of clear. 4
