That decal looks like the one on Trina's 867. 

I'm not positive but I don't think there was a Commando in '73.   

1968 to 72.  

Have you verified the tractor model number on the tag?

 

Also, do you have the air deflector for the top of the engine?

It's a necessary piece for keeping that engine cool while running.

73 had the Commando 800. Remember Eric, he's on the other side of the Pond so any model decal combo is possible over there.

Try 1-0130 1973 Commando 800 4 speed Kohler K1810-30451D 8HP  transmission WH 5085

There one on the list I got some where, The number on Toro parts has the number as a 8 HP 4 speed

There is a 1-0120 8 HP 4 speed listed right above it same Kohler and transmission.  Two 8 HP 4 speeds below with Tecumseh engines  1-0276 and 1-0277

No  the carb got replaced and the bolts wouldn’t go in for the air filter assembly. So we  just re tapped them.

Likely the new carb’s holes were metric threaded

Funny thing is the original owner gave us 2 or might be 3 carburetors. I just went with what was on the tractor to get it running. I haven’t opened any of the carburetors yet. We were talking last night about original equipment on this tractor. I agree that a factory original needs to be back on it.

Had to move a few horses to get the crabbing boat out.   So, I hosed everything off.

Sorry no pics🫣, did a bit of backlash/play removing on the PTO linkage on the C161. The “Hoop” has a small amount of wear at the pivot points, but the triangular arm has more. The trunnion will be replaced by a “Rose”/Heim” joint, as per @peter lena suggestion. The shaft running in the bell thrust bearing requires shimming to remove excessive endfloat. The 3/8” screw for the fixed pivot for the operating arm  is being replaced by an M10 bolt with an unthreaded portion under the head. This takes up the wear in the holes, and ensures the arm pivots on a non threaded section. The well worn hole in the arm was repaired by heating around the hole, and then “Forging” the hot metal around the hoop, until the fit was tight. A quick touch up with a flat and a round file and the fit was restored, (no welding/drilling/bushing required). The fit of the hole on the “unworn” end of the hoop was very tight, but after “persuading” the arm down to it’s usual position, it turns freely with minimal play!

I finally got my B-80 back from a sour deal, this how it was returned, then something in my head said drain the gas and oil because both smelled like paint thinner and I knew when it left both were fine. Now does that look like Grey primer floating around or what🤷🤬 anyways cleaned it all up flushed everything real well and running like a dream, probably one of the best running old kohlers I've ever found in the wild.

So anyways this gonna be my keeper 😁

@ranger   norm note the type of pin attatchment on my pto swing point , that horizontal pin is held in place , with that spring curve , found that type at a hardware store , once I  used it , added it to the other horses , easy on off , eliminates a bolt / nut  for quick access , also added a lower spring pull to that , cross pin , to eliminate realted noise , smooth/ quiet . pete

How else dirty paint thinner get in the gas and oil, when before it left my house I had been over it well removed the gas tank and cleaned it and changed the oil  to make sure it was a solid machine first 🤷

I had put a smaller transmission pulley on the 1467 Special for the show cruise. Of course as it always happens the throttle decided to stop locking as I drove it off the trailer. I knew it would be a PITA in the cruise to hold the throttle open. And a clothes pin vice grip idea was out because it would be too fast for conditions (traffic/kids). Bought a new cable at the show but I really didn't want to spend time there working instead of visiting/ buying. So today I removed the cable and took it apart and recrimped the ferrule thingy and got it locking again.I'll save the new cable for another time when it's needed.

You could use a clothespin container like the one in Mrs Ks laundry room.

Tie the Old Bag to the back of your seat.

  Good rainy day project while I look at my fishing boat sitting in the rain . My 36RD needed some attention. New idler pulley from K and B Wheel Horse Parts @76c12091520h  as well as a good overall greasing. 

  Just an FYI…I sent K and B a PM a month before the show with a list of parts I wanted. Wanted new and not used. I got back an email saying all were available and the pricing. Said great, I’ll pick it all up at the show. When I show up at the K and B vender spot at the WHS there were all my parts in a bag ready to go! Great service! These deck wheels look rough but spin just fine. Pulled em off today and greased them up. No zerks on these .. I swear my others have zerks. I have a few new ones on the shelf but I just can’t bring myself to install em yet.
