While you suthin' folks is mowing we'll be digging out another 12+" of white stuff. I was working out of town. It did arrive on Monday. Thanks again! I compared and the one that came on my C-160 was wore down to the snap ring groove like it was done in a lathe. The bearing must be "brown welded". WHGuy413 2,683 #18583 Posted March 15, 2023 (edited) Took my souped up Bronco 14 out with the Wheel Horse 2 stage blower on it. We received about 6” of heavy wet snow that compacted down to 4” or so. Did ok but still put more of a load on the 18HP V-twin than I would have thought. Still thinking the Ber-Vac was a better 2 stage. https://youtube.com/shorts/KPWKp9GiTTc?feature=share Edited March 15, 2023 by WHGuy413

GAJoe 844 #18585 Posted March 16, 2023 I cleaned up, replaced a couple parts, packed the bearing with a minimal amount of Lucas Green, and installed the PTO Cone from @ebinmaine . I should be ready to cut grass! 3

Will go back to it next year. 4

OutdoorEnvy 1,522 #18589 Posted March 17, 2023 @Pullstart so what got it out? Or did it just need some ballast from a non phantom driver?

I picked the trailer up and was pushing it. Without my weight, it was able to dig out of the hole easier… and me pushing it towards higher ground. Towards the end, I tied the steering wheel in place so it couldn’t drag toward the mud.
Skwerl58 704 #18591 Posted March 17, 2023 Today I replaced the front wheel bearings on my 414-8. Changed the grease in them with Lucas Red & Tacky and greased the tractor. I lubed all joints and lube points and adjusted the pto brake. Then I changed to the ag tires for plowing. Plowed two garden plots and hopefully will start planting by April 1. 4
ineedanother 1,369 #18592 Posted March 17, 2023 I put the shaker on solid mounts before I start tilling. Interestingly, the shaker mounts were fine but the rear motor mount was loose on the frame. That explains the excess shaking 7
ineedanother 1,369 #18593 Posted March 17, 2023 The drive belt idler on the 310-8 was sounding pretty bad so I pulled it off to see if I could save it. Not likely, so I ordered a couple Stens HD replacements since that looks like a step up from OEM and I'm sure one of the others will be asking for one when they get out this spring. They'll be here tomorrow 6

How do you do the finale smoothing of the soil prior to planting, do you disc/harrow or roto-till it?
