WHGuy413 2,683 #17951 Posted December 11, 2022 Before the impending epic snow storm (insert sarcasm) I went out and did a once over of the driveway and moved some things around. The 416h wouldn’t start so I had to enlist help of my dad and his (yes I’m gonna say it) Deere to fork it to winter storage. The starter seems to have gone bad on me. Really not looking forward to the bill. I finally got the bronco 14 into the garage and can finish setting up the 2 stage in there. The boys are at their moms this weekend and are missing out on being the first to plow our driveway. I did take Aiden’s 856 out and brought in a trailer and a half of fire wood. When I called my local shop a few years ago when it developed a problem the guy asked if I was sitting down then told me the price. Said since Cummins bought them the prices went threw the roof. Look closely, there’s something silver under that umbrella of limbs! My poor truck! My nephew hooked the tractor to the giant limb so it wouldn’t roll further on to it. No giant smashed spot, but about a dozen dents everywhere. Aw I'm positive it wasn't that at all. Besides I imagine most folks think "marital advice" is right up there beside "military intelligence"... My wife gave up the garage for two reasons: first, her truck wouldn't fit the garage, and second- we have a carport. That being said, a leaky wheel horse fuel line or a late night test run tends to generate heavy griping from the wife and two daughters. My son says it smells great! There is a used one on the big auction site right now. Look for 191-1808-04, the -04 indicates the solenoid position needed for a Wheel Horse. 2 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

WHGuy413 2,683 #17973 Posted December 12, 2022 Got home from work and fired up Aiden’s 856 to plow. I just went out of the garage and then plowed out where I park to the road. It handled the 6 inches of snow we got no problem. Soft and fluffy on top. Melted heavier on bottom. I have to say I’m really impressed with this tractor. I have plowed my driveway with everything from a 753 to a bronco 14 with an 18hp vtwin in it and I have to say the 856 might be the best of the bunch. Dan says put it back together then wash but if i wait more than a day I'll forget how it came apart. Part are unobtainium and a looonnngg way out... After 20 years of moving snow flakes with WHs. ranging from an L107 with a plow and a blower to some gear drive C series and a 418A.. Bottom line the best is a Sunstrand hydro. Guys talk about what you need to put on the blade to keep the snow from sticking...never a problem snow dry or snow wet 6.5 mph it rolls right off.
