Matt I like how this one holds the battery down and IN towards the steering wheel. If you don't go this route maybe call Lincoln at A to Z. Matt I did just grab a piece of scrap angle from the pile, cut it off and drill two holes. Bent the J hooks into L hooks then tried them in what I think was the original holes and I didn't like it. I saw there were holes on both sides half way back, so just used those and tightened them down. I really only had about 15 min in it, don't know why I have waiited this long! Messed around with it a little in the yard and then put it in its new home under the left shed overhang of the new barn. I acquired this tractor from @PeacemakerJack roughly about 3yrs ago, parked it in storage and hadn't done any thing with it until last weekend when I drug it out of storage. I found out that there was some issues with the starter/gen when I tried to start it but couldn't let a little thing like that stop me from seeing if I could make it run. 1 - Check to see that there was oil in it. 2 - rebuild the carb. Every thing cleaned to hospital sterilization. New kit, throttle shaft bushings, and reassembled. 3 - Make sure that I have power to the coil. 4 - Clean points and verify spark. 5 - Strap on an IV bottle. 6 - Wrap a rope around the S/G pulley & give 'er a pull. Second pull it fired up & runs well. Smokes a bit, stearing kind of works but that's OK for now. Transmission works well in all gears. Hydraulic pump also works well. I think I have a piece of inch or 1.5" angle laying around. Still a few things to move around but should give the boys ample room for their new tractors we pick up next weekend. If all goes well these 2 wheeler and made a deal for 5 wheel horses and attachments/ accessories. I wish this tractor had power steering, that blower is darn heavy. 8ntruck 6,999 #17866 Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) Tis the season for changing the Jeep's summer tires for snow tires. Clyde got tapped for a little cart hauling time to get the winter tires from the shed out to the driveway and return the summer tires to the shed for storage. Note the fresh painted front wheels and new 5 ribs. I was really surprised at how well Clyde fired up. He hasn't been run for about 2 months and his battery was down. The starter would spin, but not engage the flywheel. I put a charger on the battery for maybe 15 minutes. Was enough. He fired right up in maybe two crankshaft revolutions. Interesting story on the Jeep. Before we left for Kentucky a week ago, we had noticed a "clunk" noise in the drivetrain when backing out of a parking spot with the front wheels turned to full lock. Dropped it off at the local dealer. Turns out that it was something in the rear driveshaft - it was replaced. Now the good news - it was covered by warranty! My bill was only $130. Inspecting the tread on the summer tires tells me they are done. Will replace them with new summer tires next spring. And any weather cracking. I think I’m gonna have to get new front tires for the bronco 14 if I plan to use the 2 stage this winter. 8ntruck 6,999 #17875 Posted December 4, 2022 Got Clyde out again today for some more cart work. Hauled some tools to the lake house to blow down the water lines and winterize the drains. Hauled the tools back and some items that we want to keep in a heated house over the winter. While I had a tractor and cart out, I moved some wood I cut up the other day to the wood pile, then moved some rocks to the lake adding to a small breakwater I am making to prevent the shore from washing out under the concrete dock pad. Got to work on Clyde's choke linkage. The original carb had a vertical choke shaft. The carb currently in use has a horizontal choke shaft. Direct connection to the current choke lever is not possible with the choke Boden cable. I'll have to figure something else out.
