Looks nice Randy's. What did you do, just cut and drill a piece of angle steel?  Do the J rods hook into the stock hold down holes in the tray? I've been waiting since August for a stock battery hold down set from WH &More but they are having trouble getting them in from their supplier.  I might go this route.

Matt

I like how this one holds the battery down and IN towards the steering wheel.

If you don't go this route maybe call Lincoln at A to Z. He's likely got a good used one.

Put the new solid engine mounts on the C-161 tonight, ( the tuykey & pie wore off & coffee kicked in, lol ).

These have been hanging on my workbench for 3 years,  too many other :wh:'s wanting my attention.

These are the Bee's Knees.

I replaced them on my C-161 when I had it few years ago. One of the best mods I ever did to it and wished I did it sooner.

I did just grab a piece of scrap angle from the pile, cut it off and drill two holes. Bent the J hooks into L hooks then tried them in what I think was the original holes and I didn't like it. I saw there were holes on both sides half way back, so just used those and tightened them down. I really only had about 15 min in it, don't know why I have waiited this long!

Don't be rushing things Randy. Sometimes you have to think about stuff for a few days, months, years before you really tackle it.

Thanks Randy. I think I have a piece of inch or 1.5" angle laying around. A December project after I finish hooking up the snowblower and adding a linear actuator for the chute deflector.

Spent a decent amount of time cleaning and moving tractors around today in my big shed. Still a few things to move around but should give the boys ample room for their new tractors we pick up next weekend. If all goes well these 2 wheeler and made a deal for 5 wheel horses and attachments/ accessories. I’m sure Alex will fill you all in when it happens.

Finally finished the re-assembly and attachment of the two stage blower. Everything seems to run as it should.  I wish this tractor had power steering, that blower is darn heavy. Linear actuator for the chute deflector shipped today so I guess that's  next weekend's project.

Even harder to steer when one front tire goes flat on you. Not speaking from experience or anything lol. Good looking set up.

You'll get used to turning when your moving only, much easier...

Glad you got it together, looks great!

Tis the season for changing the Jeep's summer tires for snow tires.  Clyde got tapped for a little cart hauling time to get the winter tires from the shed out to the driveway and return the summer tires to the shed for storage.

Note the fresh painted front wheels and new 5 ribs.

I was really surprised at how well Clyde fired up.  He hasn't been run for about 2 months and his battery was down.  The starter would spin, but not engage the flywheel.  I put a charger on the battery for maybe 15 minutes.  Was enough.  He fired right up in maybe two crankshaft revolutions.

Interesting story on the Jeep.  Before we left for Kentucky a week ago, we had noticed a "clunk" noise in the drivetrain when backing out of a parking spot with the front wheels turned to full lock.   Dropped it off at the local dealer.   Turns out that it was something in the rear driveshaft - it was replaced.  Now the good news - it was covered by warranty!  My bill was only $130.

Inspecting the tread on the summer tires tells me they are done.  Will replace them with new summer tires next spring.

Put air in the tires. Fronts were at about 10-12 psi. Put 20 in each. Amazing how much better it steers with the 2 stage mounted. Found the tie rods to be very worn and loose so ordered new adjustable ones.

Just a novis question about the weight’s on the front, with a150 lb blower on the front do you really need the extra weight making it harder to steer,i can see it with a plow when angled it can push you left or right but didn’t think that would happen with the blower.and as Panther mentioned more air less friction, great looking rig by the way

You might have tires that have a maximum rating of 10 or 12 psi, look at the sidewall.  Four ply tires are rated for the pressures you want.

:text-yeahthat:

There's oodles of tires available with much higher air pressure ratings.

Carefully check your own for a rating... And any weather cracking.

I think I’m gonna have to get new front tires for the bronco 14 if I plan to use the 2 stage this winter. One holds air but the other leaks out and both are pretty dry rotted. Planning on trying to find close to the same style tire.

Those are Vredestein V61 tires.  The size is 18x8.50-8.  Got them from Miller Tire.

They're rated for 28 psi. I would have added a little more but the gauge I was using at the time was a low pressure 20 psi max gauge.

Got Clyde out again today for some more cart work.  Hauled some tools to the lake house to blow down the water lines and winterize the drains.  Hauled the tools back and some items that we want to keep in a heated house over the winter.  While I had a tractor and cart out, I moved some wood I cut up the other day to the wood pile, then moved some rocks to the lake adding to a small breakwater I am making to prevent the shore from washing out under the concrete dock pad.

Got to work on Clyde's choke linkage.  The original carb had a vertical choke shaft.  The carb currently in use has a horizontal choke shaft.  Direct connection to the current choke lever is not possible with the choke Boden cable.  I'll have to figure something else out.  I'm tried of opening the hood to work the choke directly.
