cleat 6,033 #17826 Posted November 25, 2022 I had a Fisher Mama Bear stove for years in my basement and it easily heated my 1000 square foot bungalow. Unfortunately it had no CSA or UL stamp so insurance company said it had to go. I use a Harman pellet stove now and it works great but nowhere near the same heat output.

Our insurance company hasn't given us any grief there .... yet. We use the company we do specifically because they give a GREAT rate and are very particular about following the rules and codes, and then some. They tell us to get rid of our Fisher stove - I assure you - we're going shopping for a new insurance company.

Ed Kennell 38,203 #17829 Posted November 25, 2022 When My homeowner's insurance company changed hands a few years back, they did an exterior inspection. I did not allow them inside. They sent a report that I needed a railing around my front porch and a receipt from a licensed installer of the wood stove. I checked the specs for my area and found the porch was a 12" max step. Mine measured 13", so two wheelbarrow loads of dirt fixed that problem. I sent them a receipt from Ed's stove service with pictures of the stove with yardsticks showing the distance to combustible surfaces. My homeowners policy was approved. 6 2

Panther416-8 341 #17832 Posted November 25, 2022 Replaced a noisy tension pulley. Bought the pulley from NAPA (7-05485). Gave it a few extra pumps of grease with a needle before installing...nice and quiet now. 9
Panther416-8 341 #17833 Posted November 25, 2022 Found an old pair of diamond chains with V bars that seem to fit the rears pretty well. Gotta get a pair of chains for the front. 8

ebinmaine 67,567 #17835 Posted November 25, 2022 Been spending time moving things around today. The gray portable garage is out of the front lawn and over behind the new shop building. We used Trina's 867 Pigpen to pull my non running Ariens S16H across the yard to its new house. Pigpen is now setting comfortably in the newly relocated tarp garage. 6
peter lena 8,634 #17836 Posted November 25, 2022 @Panther416-8 yup thats what you want , that pully and original undersize bearing . is a chronic problem , fairly easy to swap out and grease needle improve , get some aerosol tube lubricant into that lift lever end point , both sides of the chassis , make the rust run out . you done good , greasy , pete
peter lena 8,634 #17837 Posted November 25, 2022 @ JOHNNY MAG, go lucas , higher temp / stress rating , definitely adds bearing survival to your stuff. have years on my lubrication upgrades , no whining bearings or failures , personally test / try everything I suggest , so I know it works , just don't get it in your hair , not so good there , pete
Tonytoro416 1,034 #17838 Posted November 26, 2022 (edited) Still picking at the Raider 12. Getting it ready for snow. Have seat out getting reupholstered. Makes me want to paint the rest of the tractor now. UPDATE: still waiting on the seat to get done. Having hard time getting the foam in. peter lena 8,634 #17839 Posted November 26, 2022 @Tonytoro416 if you can't paint it , you can give it a lubrication soak / rub down , retain patina , stop rust , shed water like a duck , thats what I am seeing , opportunity . also get some aerosol lubrication in that lift lever , bushing set up , both sides , make the rust run out , looks sharp like it is , get after that plow steering quadrant , slide pin area , red aerosol grease , extension tube , get greasy , pete
peter lena 8,634 #17840 Posted November 26, 2022 @Tony Toys @horsenewbee , anything I set up , typically had stiff / dragging areas , just went step by step and eliminated them , amazing difference on enhanced operation of any attachment , no screaming / binding anything , its basically there , you just have to find and release it . washer up / lubricate start points, eliminate sloppy initial engagement , dragging / scraping control rod ? slight bend electrical cable wrap / dielectric grease , make s a dragging area , into a smooth slide point . don't be afraid to try to make it better , use that as your baseline for eliminating a problem , get greasy , pete
D_Mac 8,619 #17841 Posted November 26, 2022 (edited) Picked these up for my plow horse. They have 3 different flashing patterns. Magnetic back. Going to put them on the 875 when I'm out plowing snow. One for the front and one for the rear. Got them off ebay for 8 bucks for the pair. Batteries included . 20221126_112138.mp4 20221126_161050.mp4 Edited November 26, 2022 by D_Mac 7 1

The diamond pattern chain is a standard up here in logging country. They don't move around as much as a standard cross chain. The grip is better in different directions. Also, the ride is smoother.
RandyLittrell 3,884 #17844 Posted November 26, 2022 Finally replaced the rubber tarp strap with a proper battery hold down on the 310, I am not sure how it was originally, but think this will work. You guys with your reading glasses on will notice the need for new battery cables, they will be fixed later in the week!! 5

WHGuy413 2,693 #17847 Posted November 27, 2022 (edited) I detached the 2 stage from my grandfathers old 1848. I haven’t had time to figure out the no start issue with it. I reattached it to the bronco 14 which happens to be the same grandfathers. I think I’ve got it all hooked up right minus a couple springs and the belt. Of course the bronco14 ran out of gas right there and when I went to look for the gas can the boys had used all my gas in the 4 wheeler and never told me. yes that’s another 2 stage in the background sticking up to the left of the chute. That’s a ber-vac. I bought it for 50 bucks and it works great. This is the first year of having a wheel horse 2 stage and I figured I’d give this one a try and see how it does compared to the other. What did you do, just cut and drill a piece of angle steel? Do the J rods hook into the stock hold down holes in the tray? I've been waiting since August for a stock battery hold down set from WH &More but they are having trouble getting them in from their supplier. I might go this route.
