I only spent about 10 minutes on it when we used "Big Betty Baloo" my 2 seater D160 to pull it from the storage building to the garage. Was comfortable enough I guess but it felt like it pushed me too far forward. Could be made to work with some adjustments. That seat is not staying though. Need to find or make one that is closer to factory. Edited November 20, 2022 by Achto 2
Achto 27,597 #17753 Posted November 20, 2022 (edited) Spent the morning getting my snow equipment ready. Oil changes, new wear bar on the plow & every thing greased up. The rest of the gang got prepped for hibernation. Bring on winter!! I guess.... Edited November 20, 2022 by Achto 7

It got chosen as a plow machine due to the hydro tranny & lift. The snow blower tires on the front were one of my better choices/ideas. They perform quite well at making the front end go where you want it to. Edited November 21, 2022 by Achto 5
Andy N. 2,154 #17756 Posted November 21, 2022 Really a 2 weekend project.... installed reduction steering kit on the 520-H along with new boots around the steering rod ends as well as fluid filled the rear tires. I did not have good luck steering in the snow with the tri rib front tires so I took them off and installed 5 ribs. Also got the snow removal fleet ready for winter. 7
8ntruck 7,014 #17757 Posted November 21, 2022 Got Morgan out this afternoon and plowed out the paths that add drifted shut yesterday. Think I'll refurbish the rear wheels next spring. Tube and fill the tires when I put everything back together, too. Seems I was a little shy on traction today.

Handy Don 12,233 #17769 Posted November 22, 2022 Yesterday test assembled the 48" plow I've refurbed for the 312-H and it went together just fine. (Gotta love that aerosol Lucas Red for getting into and smoothing out that rust-attracting pivot and pivot release mechanism, eh@peter lena?) This weekend the deck finally comes off and the plow goes on. The last of the leaves got mulched and swept last weekend.
peter lena 8,633 #17770 Posted November 22, 2022 @Handy Don have to agree on that , that simple / easy lubrication detailing , makes it work so much easier . when I initially did that , plow frame was elevated on 2 milk crates , so i could roller stool around it for function issues . found the squeeze lever rod , could be tightened up on each end of that , eliminating play , used a small channel lock plyer to make the mount holes smaller / lubricate . added elastic lock nuts , on bolt swivel points , so you could dial in perfect smooth function , and lock in the hold point . also did the pull point at the slide pin on quadrant , just something I typically do to enhance levers / drive set ups. . every time I look at a driven / intended lever anything , I always spot the hang up area . having changed over all of my stuff , its just the opportunity to make it easier , have a good turkey day , stay greasy , pete 1

Next year, though, I'm going to convert it to use a bicycle brake lever and cable to pull the pivot lock pin and thereby eliminate the stiff wires and the bell crank altogether!
peter lena 8,633 #17772 Posted November 22, 2022 @Handy Don oh no not another guy daring to think out of the box , definitely with you on the bike cable / lever idea , watch out for the push back flack , have not tried that but when you do , let me know . make it better , pete

ebinmaine 67,566 #17775 Posted November 22, 2022 Folks on that bike cable to release lever idea, any threads on that? Been thinking of doing that to our plows here for ease of changeover.
